The Hawks got off to a quick start behind 14 first quarter points from Horford. Atlanta led 30-23 after one and 57-51 at the half. The Hawks held serve in the third quarter before pushing the game out of reach in the fourth. Atlanta shot a sizzling 54 percent from the floor including 11-22 shooting from beyond the arc. That long distance shooting helped make up for a subpar effort from the free throw line where they were just 6-14 as a team. Charlotte was also able to stay close thanks to 22 turnovers by the Hawks.
Horford hit 13-17 of his shots for his 26 points to go along with two assists and three blocks. Kyle Korver hit 4-6 three point attempts and finished with 16 points. Jeff Teague turned in another solid performance with 13 points and 12 assists. Josh Smith added 10 points and eight assists despite shooting 4-12 while committing five turnovers. Zaza Pachulia gave the Hawks a lift down the stretch finishing with nine points and seven rebounds.
Atlanta will wrap up a back-to-back on Saturday when they host the Los Angeles Clippers at Philips Arena.
