Jeff Teague Injury: Hawks Guard Practices, Is Day-To-Day With Ankle Injury

Jeff Teague took part in Hawks practice on Saturday in preparation for Sunday's game in New Orleans. The AJC's Chris Vivlamore reports that Teague is considered day-to-day with his injury.

Coach Larry Drew said starting point guard Jeff Teague is day-to-day with an ankle sprain suffered in Friday's OT win in Detroit. Teague participated in practice Saturday. "He was out here getting some shots up," Drew said. "He's moving around on it pretty good. They are still treating it. It will be a day-to-day decision."

Teague will likely be a game-time decision for the Hawks on Sunday against the Hornets. After suffering the injury, Teague had his ankle taped in the locker room and briefly returned to the bench area before it stiffened up on him. Kirk Hinrich entered in the latter stages of the third quarter and played the remainder of the game. If Teague can't go, the Hinrich and Jannero Pargo will likely man the point guard position for the Hawks.

good thing Kirk is back

Teague should probably sit the next game anyway to not further aggravate it.

Right now we have the depth at the 1, so no need to aggravate the injury by trying to come back early. But if he’s able to move freely the day after doing the injury, it mustn’t be too serious.

Yep and this is why you don’t trade him unless you’re getting Dwight Howard back in return.

Should we start getting worried about Josh Smith's and Joe Johnson minutes this season

I feel like they’ve been playing a ton of 40+ minutes since Al Horfords injury

I think they have reasonably chosen their spots well

but per the AJC’s report they both were held out of practice on Saturday simply to give them a day of rest.
