Keith Benson Lands With Sioux Falls Skyforce Of The NBA D-League

Star-divide

Former Atlanta Hawks second-round pick Keith Benson has landed with the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA Development League. The Skyforce acquired Benson from the available player pool and waived Anthony Mason Jr to make room on the active roster. He is expected to be in uniform for Friday night's game against the Erie Bayhawks which tips off at 7pm ET.

Benson joins Charles Garcia who was also an Atlanta Hawks training camp participant this season. Sioux Falls currently holds the NBA D-League's worst record and is dead last in the Eastern Conference with a 7-17 record.

Benson was one of the final cuts made by the Atlanta Hawks during training camp when the Hawks elected to keep former D-League star Ivan Johnson.

Benson will be on this roster if....

we can’t sign a vet. His is long, athletic, CHEAP and a shot blocker. As much as we need a rebounder, I think an athletic rim protector is more important. we have ppl who can rebound(Josh, Zaza, Marvin and Ivan), we only have one shot blocker…. That is why Kmart is a high priority for the Hawks.

I say why not give the kid a shot.

He’s no Thabeet, but he may have actual skills.

what's his game and physicality like? Did it resemble more face up power forward or more down low banging center?

* Jeff Teague * Joe Johnson* Josh Smith * Troy Murphy * Al Horford *
* Kirk Hinrich * Tracy McGrady * Marvin Williams * Ivan/Vlad * Zaza Pachulia *
----
* {#40 Pick Perimeter F Jon Leuer is better than Marvin Williams and Hinrich cost us the pick}

Honestly

I just watched part of the first quarter. He didn’t do much when I was watching but I plan on taking a look at it if I get a chance tonight. You can watch it for free at NBA.com/dleague and by clicking on futurecast
