Atlanta Hawks guard Kirk Hinrich is aiming to make his season debut on Wednesday in San Antonio. Hinrich has missed the Hawks first 18 games of the season after having off season surgery on his left shoulder. Hinrich will go through a full contact practice on Tuesday and if there are no complications he will then be cleared to play on Wednesday.

When talking about Hinrich's return Larry Drew indicated that the team would bring him along slowly to start with. He also added that Jeff Teague would remain the starting point guard and that Hinrich would come off the bench.

"At this point, I am going to stay with that I have," Drew said. "Jeff has shown that he deserves it. He has done a really good job for us. As of right now, I am just going to keep it as is."

I reckon Green has warranted keeping his spot in the rotation

and Kirk isn’t going to have game fitness, so for the short term they should still get some game time (IMO).

Honestly

I never thought I’d say this, but Green and Pargo need to stay – Sloan has done zero with his time to convince me that Pargo or Green need to leave, even for development purposes. So, I’m good with them even being in the rotation as long as the minutes are managed. So, hopefully less Green minutes and a Sloan cut ‘em, but Green and Pargo should get burn if Kirk takes some time to get minutes. I’m still leery about how Teague’s time is gonna be affected.

I definitely think it will be Sloan that is eventually cut

I just think it will be Pargo or Green that lose a rotation spot. Sorry if I wasn’t clear

LD has to be careful not to yank too many of teague's minutes

He is young and needs to get some burn. He will get better as the season progesses, Hinrich has been maxed out

At the same time, with the condensed roster maybe Teague should be kept to about 33-35 mpg

to avoid burning him out. Just a suggestion.

It’s going to be an unenviable task trying to find minutes for all the players at the 1 and 2.

It's not that hard

play your best players more, play your bench players less. It’s that simple – Joe gets the most, Jeff gets the 2nd most, Kirk gets most of the bench minutes, and Green/Pargo get a split. This isn’t that difficult.

yes

Ivan Johnson does not buy ground beef, he just takes a whole cow, runs it through his beard, and fully cooked hamburgers come out.
