I'm at the game tonight
Hopefully will have some good stuff from coach Drew’s pre-game media session. Be sure to check here and/or the storystream at SB Nation Atlanta

The Hawks are better off starting Vlad at the four and Josh at the 5
ESPECIALLY with Varajao at center and Jamison at the 4 spot, if Collins starts again expect switching due to the Mike Bibby effect.
Collins may start but it may be important to see him get less minutes tonight.
I am not sure how the Hawks will try to play it.

Im just so frustrated right now
more so than the actual game last night, that Larry Drew would come out and say the Hawks QUIT against the Sixers. The Hawks just came off a 4 game winning streak, the shots stopped dropping, and Collins played more minutes than he should reasonably play for an entire SEASON (hyperbole).
Lets see how they respond
I read a lot of frustration from Drew in those comments. Not condoning them by any stretch of the imagination but it may have just been something where he was trying to get their attention. If they lose tonight then last night’s loss is more magnified in my opinion. I am rather anxious to see what kind of mood he is in today.

I'd just like him to stop starting Collins
actually i would like him to stop playing Collins. Much rather us get a player that we can use all the time vs. only vs. DHoward and acting like he can do anything else. if he can’t rebound or block shots, it’s useless to play him. Minutes or not – play Zaza and then work small ball to buy the time from there.

A fellow season ticket holder tonight summed up the Sixers game as thus:
The quitting started at the top, the coach. His 2 points were mainly that if you are being outworked on the boards why doesn’t it cross your mind to put in your energy guy off the bench (Ivan Johnson)? and if you see your players getting overwhelmed and discouraged try to stop the bleeding. Change something, anything. Don’t just watch it happen and then complain to the media that you thought they were passed that.
It reminds me of the infamous Woodson comment that it wasn’t his job to coach effort or motivate the players to play hard. If you see the wreck about to happen don’t you owe to the team as coach to try to stop it?

Collins was only -3 -/+ during his time in the game.
Collins gets the Hawks into better sets than Zaza because he can screen, has a more respectable jump shot, which allows our drivers space to create.
I know I’m just repeating myself, but Collins’ game doesn’t show up in the stat column.
you're buggin'
he’s useless on that court. Zaza’s screens turned into buckets throughout the first half with T-Mac. Zaza has a MUCH better complete offensive game than Collins – jump shot and all.

Lol ok dude
its clear we’re watching a different game, because Collins cant shoot, cant rebound, and cant guard the pick and roll….
But he can shoot...
Not to be confused with a scorer, but he’s someone you have to guard 18 ft away.
I doubt we lose tonight. No Brand and Iguodala to keep the 2 "stars" out of the post. Rebounding should not be an issue Jamison is not that strong and Varejao is a weaker Joakim.
We’ll see but not a lot of physical defenders
* Hawks trade {Al Horford + protected 2nd rounder} for {Perimeter F Jon Leuer and C Andrew Bogut}
* Jeff Teague * Joe Johnson* Jon Leuer * Josh Smith * Andrew Bogut *
I saw on the Hawks report on Y!
that Hinrich was listed as day-to-day.
Anyone think we can get him back next week?
Is it that the Princeton Offense for Perimeter big men? I mean why is Josh Smith and the center always at the High Post? Doug Collins does (sort of) the same high post thing with Vucevic, Elton and Hawes.
The only offense Smith should be in is Pick and roll action. Strong side cleared out for only the guard (Teague/Joe) and the roller (Smith) and then shooters and center on the weak side.
I mean right here is perfect offense for Smith but it looks completely different from the regular sets that I’m watching of us vs Philly.

Kinda glad I wasn't able to watch the Philly game. Looking forward to us bouncing back tonight
Go Hawks!
Hard to believe we won in Miami but have looked so bad against Houston, Indy, and Philly
Pretty frustrating
its happening all around the league
crazy schedule is making for an unpredictable season

Just concerned about this 5 game road trip
We are capable of sweeping those games. Whether or not that happens is a complete different story
Kept us in the dark about who was starting at center
Looks like it is Pachulia

Is this one of those nights where you can buy a nosebleed seat, and go sit down court side?
If the Hawks win it all.........I will shave MY eyebrows.
Where are all the Cavs fans? Hmmm, it's weird how a couple years ago Phillips was packed with them.
I guess they all support Miami these days!
BANDWAGON FANS SUCK AT LIFE!
I am amazed...Josh is making actual OUTLET PASSES!

Agreed. Did a good job of building on the lead that quarter
Stretch it to 25-30 and get the starters some rest
lol at the earlier comment
I seem to remember a time when the cavs danced on the sidelines
Ivan Johnson does not buy ground beef, he just takes a whole cow, runs it through his beard, and fully cooked hamburgers come out.

Great first half don't ya say. Smoove and Zaza doing business on the boards.
I hope that they don’t quit in the 2nd half again.
Keep an eye on the start of the 3rd quarter

What we learned
that if you start Zaza and don’t play Jason Collins. Things are much better. As for the quitting thing, we didn’t figure out anything when you are playing against the Alabama AAU All Stars. We actually don’t have to score another point, play Sloan/Green/Collins/Johnson/Pargo and it’ll still be double digits.

Don't wanna
hear one more person on this blog talk about why Collins should do anything more than cleanup duty or emergency/foul duty for this team and I’m including games vs. the Magic. All we have to do vs. Magic is just play Howard straight up. Anyway, this game just makes me doubt him more than give him credit. How did you not see that Zaza was better than Collins and that Teague was WORLDS better than Bibby? How did this not happen?

I should've tuned in at 2am here instead of getting drunk last night.
Good to see the Hawks rebound back after a disappointing performance against the Sixers and beat teas they’re supposed to.
