Atlanta Hawks 2012 Schedule: Road Stretch To Close January Begins Friday In Philadelphia
The Atlanta Hawks will hit the road for six of the next seven games beginning Friday in Philadelphia against the Atlantic Division leading Sixers. The Hawks return home on Saturday with a matchup against Cleveland before embarking on a five game trip that will have them crisscrossing the country.
The good news is that there are no back-to-backs involved in the five game trip but the Hawks could be cashing in some frequent flyer miles along the way. The trip tips off in Milwaukee on Monday and continues in San Antonio on Wednesday. Then it is back north for a game in Detroit on Friday before heading back south to New Orleans on Sunday. The trip will wrap up in Toronto on Tuesday, January 31.
Here is a look at the next seven games:
| Friday, Jan 20 | @Philadelphia (10-4) |
| Saturday, Jan 21 | vs Cleveland (6-7) |
| Monday, Jan 23 | @Milwaukee (4-9) |
| Wednesday, Jan 25 | @San Antonio (10-5) |
| Friday, Jan 27 | @ Detroit (3-12) |
| Sunday, Jan 29 | @ New Orleans (3-12) |
| Tuesday, Jan 31 | @ Toronto (4-11) |
After this stretch the Hawks will open four game home stand against some stiffer competition with Memphis, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Indiana all paying visits to Philips Arena.

Ouch... That's a lot of traveling. I see a lot of flaws in every team and we could sweep. But our starting center position is terribly weak.
* Hawks trade {Al Horford + protected 2nd rounder} for {Perimeter F Jon Leuer and C Andrew Bogut}
* Jeff Teague * Joe Johnson* Jon Leuer * Josh Smith * Andrew Bogut *

its the equivilant of our starting pg last year
Ivan Johnson does not buy ground beef, he just takes a whole cow, runs it through his beard, and fully cooked hamburgers come out.
Collins is the only one on this team that I've ever actually amass a "Negative" PER.

Injury can't be anl excuse for us this year because every team has people out.
I think the Sixer’s center is out also.

5-2 record is good at the end of this strech
No matter what happens tonight, this is not a make or break game.
Even the SA game is not make or break.
Don’t kill the players tonight. Get a good measure for how we rank against a team that is playing really good basketball, and figure out next steps (read obtaining center for Captain Kirk). But don’t tire the players. It is more important to win on Sat than win killing ourselves tonight
yeah when does kirk get back?
Ivan Johnson does not buy ground beef, he just takes a whole cow, runs it through his beard, and fully cooked hamburgers come out.
I always thought in Feb sometime
Last I read in AJC, it said he is at 75%, trying to get full range of motion which is the remaining 25%. I say at least couple weeks from now. Feb is tough, it be good to have him ready then
Am I the only one?
Who’s worried that when Kirk is available that Larry Drew will start jerking around Teague’s minutes? I mean I’d like to think Teague is doing enough to keep the job, but I know Drew’s history of treating players like Teague and Zaza.

yes but
There’s plenty of minutes that are currently going to Pargo and Green for Drew to give to Hinrich before he has to reduce Teague’s.
I agree with you totally
I am also very worried about this point – Teague should stay the starter, he is an impactful player for long term for Hawks and should not be messed with any more

That's my starting point
for giving LD my respect this season. I need to see if he’s going to take Teague off crunch time and 30 minute duty. If that happens, I stay solidly in the dude must go territory.

Those cities are spaced out. Jet lag would take a toll on anyone making that journey in that many days.
If the Hawks win it all.........I will shave MY eyebrows.

Luckily there is only the one back-to-back
While it will still be damning as there are no short jaunts in there at least every stop is spaced a day after the first 2. Hopefully it will allow them to develop a rhythm to the travel and daily schedules and stay focused on those very winnable last 3 games.
The next big trip is worse
Late Feb. they fly to LA for the Lakers followed the next night by the Suns, couple days off before Portland on the 18th, then Chicago on the 20th and New York on the 22nd. Then Home for the Magic on the 23rd. Now that is brutal.

Spencer Hawes
I read an article on Hawes being a candidate for most improved this year. It said he gives the credit to Shawn Kemp, who has been working out with him. I wondered if Hawes grabs his junk whenever he throws one down nowadays
No he grabs junk food.
And feeds it to one of his 85 kids.

That matters but it is not the secret to Sixers
It is them slashers they have. But there is a secret to dealing with them. I wait for game thread before sharing
Collins plays them like the Cleveland Cavaliers of old. Hawes passing, Iguodala cutting.
The 76ers play small.
I like the idea of going big with Josh posting up vs Iguodala/Meeks/ Lou Williams. Problem is how do we go big at SF? Smith,Ivan,Zaza?
With Marvin starting he will go to jumpers. Can he improve his post game vs what he did against Philly last time? Can he turn the corner slashing?
What can we do?

please try to refrain from running on the court after every twin and josh smith jumper
Ivan Johnson does not buy ground beef, he just takes a whole cow, runs it through his beard, and fully cooked hamburgers come out.
I may just do that.
How else will they learn?
Although I doubt Collins starts tonight.

Hey ATL, kick Philly's a$$ PLS!!!!
Prove to the world that they are a bunch of frauds. I’m sick of folk putting the Sixers upon a high pedestal. All their wins come from facing losers. Don’t just win, but kick their a$$es and take their wallets too.

It is true.
They have yet to beat a team the likes of the Bulls, Heat, Blazers.
But hey they did beat the Wizards twice.

The 66ers can easily shoot us out of the game. With Lou Williams and Jrue Holiday, then thee's Iguodala and Thaddeus and Elton Brand
