Preview:
The Atlanta Hawks are looking for their fourth straight win Wednesday night when they host the Portland Trail Blazers in a nationally televised game at Philips Arena. The game will mark the first return of former Sixth Man of the Year award winner Jamal Crawford to Atlanta for the first time since signing with the Blazers in the offseason. Atlanta has won three straight games since Al Horford was lost for three to four months with a torn pectoral muscle.
Portland is in the middle of a six-game road trip and broke a three game losing streak on Monday with a 84-77 win over the Hornets in New Orleans.

Tough game tonight
LeMarcus is really a center body type playing PF. Smoove will have a difficult time with him. I really wish we had Lion tonight, we are going to miss him.
I am not sure it is wise to put Smoove on LeMarcus. LeMarcus is playing superb and will get Smoove in foul trouble. We need Smoove. Perhaps best to have Smoove play Wallace. And have Marvin play LeMarcus. Then either Zaza or Ivan Johnson can play Curt Thomas.

Kris, is the MArvin situation a situation where we feel he's too immature to bring off the bench? Or where the FO says Marvin must start to up his value?
I think he’d up his value as a backup. More touches. Go against semi-worn down starters. I dont know why he isn’t benched for Vlad.
A vet minimum guy replacing a starter though…Comes down to hubris of the FO. And I think they dont like admitting mistakes.
Same as I felt with Hinrich vs Teague.

I think the biggest improvement came from the ball not stopping at one guy.
Yeah Jamal could fill the basket, but I think we move the ball better now when we get into our bench. Guys like Vlad, Green and Taco seem to let the offense flow better.
Pargo is a gunner, but most of the bench has been playing better team ball.

When T-Mac is healthy
I love him. He racks up the assists, he gets a few rebounds, and he still has multiple avenues for scoring. Then you’ve got some good balance-Vlad is a sniper (But his aggression has been welcome-he’s rebounding the ball extremely well), and guys like Zaza and Ivan Johnson bring energy and toughness. Those two comebined with Willie Green work hard on defense, which is a novelty from this team.

He’s not the clear back-up to any of the starters. Larry Drew doesn’t know how to sub, so what he does is just put in the back-up for the corresponding starter.
Pargo is Teague’s backup.
Green is JJ’s backup.
McGrady is Marvin’s backup.
Ivan is Josh’s backup.
Zaza is Collins’ backup (Why in the hell?)
Vlad is the backup to…whom? Larry Drew doesn’t know, so he forgets to put the guy in.
