HAWKS KINGS MEMPHIS TRADE that could happen after the lock out
Kings Trade; DeCousins, Jason Thompson, Donte Greene
Hawks Trade: Kirk Hinrich, Marvin Williams, Magnum Rolle
Memphis Trade: Rudy Gay
Kings Receive: Rudy Gay, Magnum Rolle
Hawks Receive: DeCousins, Donte Greene
Memphis Recive: Kirk Hinrich, Marvin Williams, Jason Thmopson
Here we see a 3 trade that make sense for all three team....
Kings loosing their young C/F Cousins who they are willing to get rid because of his attitude & immaturity problems, while getting the SF they needed and which is a better superstar! now they wont have a whole is PF position because they acquired the presence of JJ hickson last draft, so hickson will be their starter, And adding magnum rolle which will replace Jason Thomson.
Hawks trade their starting PG & starting SF, but De'Cousins will allow Al horford to slide in his natural position, which means hawks will get their center. Hawks has a way handling immature and attitude problem players (right Smith?). And getting Donte Greene which will be a good back up player in SF.
Now why will the Memphis Trade their Superstar?? its because they played better and made a great playoff run with out him. While the memphis didn't get a superstar in return, they receive 3 very solid players who will immediately become part of their rotation. which is their needs because they lack team depth. Memphis used S. Battier and Tony Allen in SF position during the playoffs. Having Marvin williams they will get a solid replacement for R. Gay , who can eventualy become a starter or if they resign S Battier they will have 2 solid SF (who will start depends on the coach). Kirk Hinrich is another good team addition, a good solid defender who could start or come off the bench and play both G position (remember O.J. is free agent if they couldn't sign him Hinrich can fill the void). Another player is the young PF/C Jason thompson, He can provide depth and athleticism to memphis. he could start or be back up player to Gasol and Randolph.

A very legitimate trade.
Although I like it, I’m skeptical if this is going to make us better. The likelihood that we break even in this exchange is more realistic. The reason why I’m hesitant is his lack of maturity. I have little faith that a sophomore coach like Larry Drew has any more of a handle of this team than Paul Westphal dysfunctional team in Sacramento, who by the way took a team in Phoenix to the Finals. We have our own tendencies of dysfunction as well. Cousins needs a person who will get the most out of him and we saw of how he “showed his faith” in Jeff Teague. He tends to get a little lazy and lackadaisical in offense choosing jumpers rather than higher percentage around-the-basket and off-dribble moves. But the one reason I would take him is his defense which is better than his days at Kentucky. He is one of the better low-post defenders, switches correctly, and doesn’t get beat too often. He uses his size to his advantage very well. Not saying he is miraculous, but he has above-average defense. I like Donte Greene too. One of the best underrated defenders we have in this league and also gives us depth at SG.

Yes very immature team, but building a nice young team.
While Loosing contracts of Hinrich and Williams to free up some Cap Space. Donte Greene is still young.. younger than williams and could still be developed. great defensive player and a nice rotational player.
DeMarcus will make Smoove look like the Pope.
If people think Smoove has a bad attitude, pairing him with Cousins is an awful, awful idea. Al will definitely demand a trade if he has to play with Cousins on one side and Smoove on the other.
A team can only stand for one knucklehead if it plans to compete on a championship level.
DeMarcus Cousing would have been a junior if had stayed in college this year
At 20 years of age, we were all knuckleheads.
My point, I would give a limb for Demarcus Cousins!!! He is a BEAST and he may yet mature.
But somehow I think our guru Kevin Willis is right, Kings would rather move their coach than the beast.
I agree with jdewayneatl
Cousins would scare me to death if I was an organization. Josh Smith isn’t even in the same conversation as Cousins in terms of attitude
@Kris_Willis
they are all still young.
if they mature together as a team they wont be a badass in the future.. but your right.,., drew would be having a hard time having Cousins and smith together. but if he can handle them both and rest of the team well, the hawks frontcourt will be the beast of the east..
If the money lines up for this trade i would do it in a heartbeat
We get rid of two contracts that we don’t need, there is finally no reason to not start Teague, and we get a C that can actually allow Horford to move over. Teague, Johnson, Smith, Horford, and Cousins if we don’t trade Smith. That’s a very good lineup. Either way, this team needs to make a drastic trade or two to change the mindset of this team. We don’t have a championship lineup and staying with the same team every year is insanity. If Cousins can perform at a future All Star level at C, I’ll take him. We need basketball players who can compete with the best and he has ridiculous upside. He’ll learn to shut his mouth or else he will have a reality check soon.
Yes... Salary release
Yes that’s exactly the hawks line up if they acquire Cousins. And getting rid of 2 contracts that could free up some space.. But that would be a gamble because they are playing Smith & Cousins together. But if Drew can handle Cousins well together with smith, and develop & grow together as a team, & add some good free agents that could contribute off the bench, this team will surely be a beast.
How?
How could happen after the lock out?
Cousins looks like he in better shape than ever? Magnum Rolle and Rudy Gay?
In 1957, the team advanced to the Finals, losing to the Boston Celtics in a double-overtime thriller in game seven. In 1958, the Hawks again advanced to the NBA Finals where they avenged their previous year's defeat against the Boston Celtics, winning the series 4-2. Bob Pettit scored 50 points in Game 6 in front of a crowd of 10,218 in St. Louis. The victory gave the Hawks their first and only NBA Championship.
