Nice mix of D-League players along with a crop of undrafted free agents. There are some intriguing names on the list and with more workouts scheduled for other teams later in the week, there is going to be a lot of competition for some of these names.

He was among the last ones cut last year, correct?
Nice list, with some intriguing names to round out spots 10-15.

#undrafted
Would be delighted
to see Lighty make this roster. He can easily be the 4th guard in the rotation behind Joe, Kirk, and Jeff. I’m very ok with that. Let’s make it happen…

I'm down with that also
And if we could shed Williams, I’d like to see if Alexander could fill his role. He’d be much more aggressive for sure.

Fact.
He can't...
simple as that. “If Alexander could fill his role”, he wouldn’t have been cut out of the league within 24 months of being a top 10 pick.

Wow...
Harsh.
However, since I was unfamiliar with Mr. Alexander prior to this post, your comment seems accurate.
Personally, I don’t have high hopes for any of these guys, even Benson.

Really
Regardless of what happened in his first stint, do you honestly think that he couldn’t come in and stand around the perimeter, not shoot, not rebound, and occasionally go off when options 1-4 aren’t feeling well? Look, I don’t know what happened in Milwaukee with Alexander so I can’t speak to that, but I’d like to see if Alexander could at least be as productive as his rookie year. It may not mean much, but those numbers are just as good if not better than Williams last year. To me, it’s at least worth a shot to see if he’s still got anything left. Maybe the D-League did him some good.
As I stated in the previous thread, I’d just like to see the guy get another shot and if he gets a roster spot, then I’d like to see if he can push Williams out. I’ve about reached my limit waiting for Marvin to grow into his potential. I’ve never had any illusions that he was worth where he was drafted, but I damn sure thought he’d be more than what he’s amounted too over the last two years.
Do I think Alexander is the answer at SF? Absolutely not, but I do think there’s a slight chance that he could provide just as much nothing as Williams and do it for a lot less.

I agree, that I hope he gets a shot...
and wouldn’t mind it here. We’ve got nothing to lose. but really?

In his fewest minutes per in a while, Marvin still averaged 10 and 5, 45% from the field, 80% from the line, 33% from 3. They were better pre-All Star Break, when I assume his back began to be a more significant problem (as said elsewhere players his age don’t fall off a cliff overnight).
Joe as a rookie, 12 minutes per, with less than 5 pts and 2 boards. Those numbers are not :“as good if not better”. And they shipped out Richard Jefferson that summer to supposedly open up time for Alexander, before soon thereafter declining his 3rd season.
I’m not opposed to Alexander on the roster, or definitely not as a camp invite. But to compare him to Marvin is a gross exaggeration of what the man has done. I’m no Marvin fan, but he’s been much, much more productive than Alexander has ever come close to. As said above, Marvin became a shell this year, but if his back heals, we just might see that was the main reason why. And I’m not talking about “potential” Marvin, but real life Marvin, which is still about 12 and 6, with good shooting %s, and solid D. Nothing special, but a solid role player.

Here's what I was looking at
First, some clarifications and caveats. I’m in no way trying to make a point blank argument that Alexander is de facto better than Williams. I’m only saying that it is of my opinion that there’s a chance that Alexander could provide as much production as Williams, or at least close to it, and do so at a much cheaper rate.
Of course, with that comes a few caveats such as the all encompassing small sample size. I can’t include the DBL numbers in any objective way and there just isn’t enough data to support a concrete answer. However, there’s enough there for me to think of what is possible should Alexander make the team and is given an opportunity to get minutes. As you’ve pointed out, there’s probably a good reason why he didn’t stick around the first time, and they may still be the case.
Here’s the numbers I was using to make an opinion of Alexander. I’ve put in bold the numbers that are close if not better than Williams. Again, I don’t know if that is sustainable or not, but in the least I think it would do good to give Marvin some competition. Maybe that’s all Alexander has to represent, but if not, maybe he can provide at least that again off the bench.

i was looking at Alexander seeing as though Damien Wilkins is a free agent and is old.
we could take a flyer on him being a third SF. Wilkins didn’t shoot three at all last year and Alexander could fill in a similar role.

I'm happy about Alexander
I think Milwaukee and Chicago were bad situations. I don’t know how much better a situation ATL is, but if he’s given minutes I think he’ll produce. Then again, coming out of college I thought he was the next Scott Pippen.
After watching lighty play last year
I would like to see him on the team. Of what I know of him, he was one of the more well rounded players on the team
I like to think of Jeff Teague as our secret weapon..... so secret that the Atlanta coaches have no idea who he is.
The thing i want to see is how Benson plays against Samhan.
Samhan is a pretty big guy and if Benson can handle him then he was a great pick because he only needs some attitude. And just to comment about Alexander, yes, he played like crap for the Bucks, but don’t you think he’s been refining his game for the last year in the D-league? I think the guy deserves a second chance to show people what he can do. And he played better than any of the other D-league players, just saying. I do think this list has some guys that are tough players and have some heart. I think Lighty, McCamey, and Wanamaker all have toughness and I would love for one of them to bring that to our team.

I Like Malcom Thomas...
He reminds me of Taj Gibson with his length and shot blocking ability and toughness.
Players with a defined need like shot blocking, rebounding and shooting will have the best chance to make this team….
My money is on 2 of these 3 players… Lighty, Thomas and Hazell.
