The Atlanta Hawks will host a free agent mini camp at Philips Arena beginning on Monday. Second round pick Keith Benson will take part in the workouts and Adam Zagoria reports that former Seton Hall shooting guard Jeremy Hazell is also planning to attend. Zagoria reports that Hazell's camp received a call from the Hawks between the 59 and 60th picks of the draft last night.
Hazell's agent reveals that Jeremy was one of the unnamed players that the Hawks worked out before the draft.
"The Atlanta Hawks called me and they want Jeremy coming to their camp on Sunday night for a week," Cohen said by email. "They desperately need a 2 guard and they really like Jeremy. He had a great workout for them earlier this week."
Hazell is a 6-foot-5 shooting guard that scored more than 2,000 career points while at Seton Hall. He missed 13 games this past season with an injured wrist that prevented him from working out at the Portsmouth Invitational. His scoring mentality could remind some of Jamal Crawford.
