I haven't seen anyone on here talk about this yet.  It appears that there are two investment groups who are interested in purchasing the Hawks, Thrashers, and Philips Arena from Atlanta Spirit.  The names of the main investors were not mentioned, but there is speculation that it could involve a couple of local real estate investment firms as well as a local film maker.

If the Hawks are sold, it could be the best thing that has happened to the team in a while depending upon the set up.  I was once a defender of the ASG, but now I have lost all confidence that this group can make sound basketball decisions and spend their money wisely.  The Joe Johnson contract is an albatross that has put a cap on this team's potential, IMO.  I'm ready for the house to be cleaned out in the front office.  It's pathetic to me that this organization, from top to bottom, does not realize who their best player is.
