Nets Fan- Trade Idea

Hey Everyone- wanted to see your thoughts on the following.

Nets: Brook Lopez, Jordan Farmar, Nets 2ndrounder, Petro

Why do I think Hawks will be interested?

#1 Save some money

#2 Finally get a true center that can push Horford to his natural position at the 4. We all know that the corret decicion at this point is for the Hawks to identify and preserve Horford as the current big on the team that they build around. J Smith has had his share of fans and critics in Atlanta and it seems like both the player and franchise need a split

#3 Lopez is young, injury free, offensively diverse and well mesh well with Horford. Both players can play inside and out and Horford will finally get more desirable matches at the 4. Lopez may not bring the rebounding of smith, but his sheer size and legnth can help bring some changes to the frontcourt for Atlanta.

#4 the PG position has been in flux for the Hawks for quite some time. Teague finally showed some promise in the playoffs, but overall, he's not what the Hawks need. Farmar has proven both in the NBA and overseas that he is capable of handling a larger role as a point guard and can easily handle 25+ minutes of pg duty. He knows how to work with Brook, can extend his range, is young, cheap, and athletic.

#5 Can always use a draft pick :)

I'd do it

For the Nets, its clears the way for Dwight Howard, which gets him out of the Southeast Division and gives D-Will 2 fantastic pick and roll options. Imagine Deron and J Smoove on fastbreaks

For us, gives us a true center. With him next to Horford, his rebounding deficiencies are masked. Jordan Farmar is a decent backup, put him next to Hinrich so he can defend the weaker player. Instantly makes us a real threat in the East

Is it too much to ask for the corspe of Petro to not be included, or at least bump that pick to a 1st if we gotta take him?

I’d do it if I was Rick Sund but I don’t see why the Nets would unless they could turn around and trade Smith to Orlando for Howard. I’m also a lot higher on Teague than you are, but I’d certainly welcome Farmar as the backup PG.

Hawks management would do this

Instead of Bogut and Leuer they would go for Brook Lopez and his giant frame, non getting back on defense, non rebounding spells superstar.

His offensive rating is identical to his defense rating. His opponent scores as much as he scores. Nonconsequential player.

No trades with the Nets. Dwight does not want to come here with ASG. He has his list and hes checked it more than a few times. Just Stop it.

Horford/Smith and Dwight will only happen in NJ. Just stop it. Funny because Dwight + Smith would need a shooter for floor balance.

Bogut and Leuer and Smith is a giant balanced frontcourt that can be done with Horford. We’re not getting Dwight for anything less than Horford Smith and picks.

If the Hawks wanted a 7 footer who is allergic to rebounding, they should have traded Marvin for Andrea Bargnani a couple of years ago. No thank you

No way.

Have you seen Lopez’ rebounding rate. It is absolutely pahtetic for his size. He can score a little bit, but trust me, I don’t think anyone in the league fears Brook Lopez. Josh brings much more to the table.
