Hawks Trade Josh Smith for

Nets: Brook Lopez, Jordan Farmar, Nets 2ndrounder, Petro

Why do I think Hawks will be interested?

#1 Save some money

#2 Finally get a true center that can push Horford to his natural position at the 4. We all know that the corret decicion at this point is for the Hawks to identify and preserve Horford as the current big on the team that they build around. J Smith has had his share of fans and critics in Atlanta and it seems like both the player and franchise need a split

#3 Lopez is young, injury free, offensively diverse and well mesh well with Horford. Both players can play inside and out and Horford will finally get more desirable matches at the 4. Lopez may not bring the rebounding of smith, but his sheer size and legnth can help bring some changes to the frontcourt for Atlanta.

#4 the PG position has been in flux for the Hawks for quite some time. Teague finally showed some promise in the playoffs, but overall, he's not what the Hawks need. Farmar has proven both in the NBA and overseas that he is capable of handling a larger role as a point guard and can easily handle 25+ minutes of pg duty. He knows how to work with Brook, can extend his range, is young, cheap, and athletic.

#5 Can always use a draft pick :)
