there’s problem on both sides. If the players had financial sense and didn’t blow large portions of their money on bandwagon friends, long extended family, and trying to “look cool”, they’d be paid more than enough for their labor.
If the owners had sense, they’d set up a system pooling their main revenue streams, and wouldn’t need to bully the players to ensure “every team is profitable”. This is capitalistic America after all, and no one is guaranteed a profit. If you run your team poorly, and in some cases borderline incompetent, you should lose money. That’s how things work. Quit trying to demand the people who allow you to have a league get backed in to a corner so everyone, even the incompetents and unworthy, are profitable.
This isn’t the NFL where you have long term health issues killing players. This isn’t MLB where you can have a few spend and spend while the rest act as a second tier cashing luxury tax checks. And this isn’t the NHL, where 50% of the country doesn’t care if you exist. Act upon the realities of the situation, and give us back our games before we say screw you and find other entertainment sources to give our revenue. Sources that won’t squabble over hoarding a few more dollars to save idiots from themselves.
