A little, yes...
but it’s sooooooooooo long. And then the playoffs are like 3 months now, it drags. The regular season will have some solid games, and definitely numerous enjoyable games. But it’s hard to get “excited” for them when it’s all about the playoffs and you think regardless of individual outcomes in regular season games, you’re gonna end up around 50 wins and a 3-5 seed. Just ride out the regular season until the real games begin, and the playoffs are what is most important with this team imo.

I get what you are saying
I love the playoffs too. Still there is just something about the season starting. It doesn’t feel like a marathon as much to me as say following the Braves does because they don’t play every night. I guess I am just a hoops junkie though. I could watch year round.

I'm a hoops junkie as well...
and watch year round, even summer league. But “excited” just wouldn’t be how I’d describe it.

Another part is probably not wanting to get hopes up...
I was more excited for last year than this one. This one kind of seems like it’ll be going through the motions of some great performances, a few amazing nights, somewhere around 50 wins, and then perhaps a first round exit but more likely a second. It’s hard to get hopes up when you can almost see what’s coming, and don’t expect the ownership to actually invest what’s needed to get things over the hump.

Just updated the post to show the Preseason schedule that they just announced
Playing New Orleans at East Tennessee State University. I was hoping for Chattanooga but maybe next time.

First ten games look very winnable
we’ll have to work hard against orlando, but everyone else seems like W’s in my book. we can easily start the year 13-1. i think that the beginning of he season is gonna decide where we end up in the east. we don’t do well in the middle part of the season and if we can stock up wins in November and December it can give us a cushion for the beat downs we always get in January.

I agree
Despite three of our first four being on the road I think it is paramount to get off to a good start.

I believe we will get off to a good start, preferably a winning streak
I’m just mainly skeptical about their confidence against the already proclaimed “top teams of the east.” hawks have to grow a pair this year to compete. but……..okay I looove to see them play branding Roy and the blazers. its always entertaining to me…..

typo "branding" is of course brandon Roy

Looking forward to . . .
The OKC visit to Philips again. Beyond that I’m thankful there isn’t too much in terms of home games around Christmas (out of town), but March will be a potential issue with so many big home games possibly running up against NCAA tournament dates.
Not crazy about the number of back to back games (tied for the most) given how we often play in back-to-backs.

so true cause last season was brutal
Coming off an emotional win against Boston to run into Orlando TWICE in like 2 weeks I think. then to come off a emotional loss to Cleveland to have to play them again in Cleveland the next night. that’s why the hawks gotta have some confidence and a chip on their shoulders to show they can compete
IF YOU CANT ACCEPT LOSING, YOU CANT WIN.

I am actually shocked that Miami only has 29
Wouldn’t be surprised to see a few others get picked up.

I didn't know there is a max number of times a team can be on National TV
I read the magic number is 34. I agree with the author that they’ll probably reach that number when the “fans” vote on Fan Favorite nights.
Bet it hit the rim!
I was done with this whole Miami love orgy that was happening a long time ago...
I hope we win the entire series against them, and show them a couple “D” grade – Caliber free agent signings can beat their asses. I’m imagining Jason Collins monstrous throw downs and a Josh Powell block party… is it too much for a guy to dream?

Miami will lose their first game
They have back to back road games to start the season. Chances are Boston will be more fine tuned for opening night in the Garden to beat the Heat. Miami plays Philly the next night (win). Then go home to play Orlando. So, there is a good chance the Heat start off with a 1-2 record.
Changing the subject...
I can understand why Indiana and New Orleans would want to make this move, but I don’t get New Jersey or Houston’s involvement.
http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/wireStory?id=11377821
Collison and Posey to Indiana (they really need a PG, and take on Posey’s salary to help since they lack wings as well).
Trevor Ariza to New Orleans (good SF next to Paul, a younger version of Posey)
Courtney Lee to Houston (here’s where my confusion lies most. Why the need for Lee with Martin around? Isn’t Ariza a better compliment at that spot?)
Try Murphy to New Jersey (Nice addition to a big man rotation with Favors and Lopez I guess, but now they lack a SG without Lee? So why add his contract without improving the team?)
I get half the trade, but the other half just is confusing.
I don't understand either
The Rockets were said to have been really high on Lee going all the way back to when he was drafted. I don’t understand why New Jersey is trying to make sure that Favors comes off the bench. If you are a young team and you are going nowhere wouldn’t you be better off with your young players getting all of the time?
http://www.peachtreehoops.com/
With Paul's as a huge question mark for the Hornet's, I cannot fathom why they would get rid of Collison.
ESPECIALLY for the services of Ariza. Collison was a beast in Paul’s injury timeout.
Bet it hit the rim!
I am guessing this is partly an attempt
to put the Paul Trade rumors to bed as they most certainly aren’t trading him now.
