NBA Free Agent List 2010: The Peachtree Hoops Scoreboard (v4)

Follow along throughout the Free Agent season here at Peachtree Hoops, where we'll look at each day of the initial free agent frenzy and track who has signed where (now in Technicolor!) as well as provide our own commentary along the way and how it may affect our Atlanta Hawks.

Since we last spoke:

UPDATE: Was waiting for dollar figures (which we won't know until tomorrow when LeBron announces) but I believe everyone saw ESPN this afternoon when Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh announced their commitment to Miami.

UPDATE: Ray Allen will re-up with the C's for 2 years, 20 million dollars.

UPDATE: Carlos Boozer will sign with the Bulls for 5 years, 80 million dollars.

Amare Stoudemire and the New York Knicks have married on terms of 5 years, 100 million dollars. Hey, that's Joe Johnson money, right there.

Also, Chris Duhon, the man who the Hawks passed on to take Royal Ivey (consider that dilemma) has agreed to a 4 year, 15 million dollar deal with the Orlando Magic. That's a Greg Buckner/Ira Newble contract right there.

In a Case of Ego Out of Control

Can you believe that LeBron James is doing a recruiting like selection show Thursday night on ESPN. I guess since he didn’t get to have the experience in high school he is going to have his fun now. Wonder if he will have all of the hats sitting on a table? I know the sponsorship money is going to a good cause but this thing just has that " Look at me, Look at me" feel. It is completely unnecessary.

In related news Bosh is joining Wade in Miami although there won’t be any hour long show to announce it.

wow...just when you thought you didnt have enough reasons....

to dislike Lebron (Iwhen he’s not on your team). A scheduled team picking?? Bosh joining Wade was probably forseen by management (a first) and that led them wanting to sign Joe for whatever he wants. And Shaq coming here might just happen whether James joins the wade/bosh duo or not.

James found a way to use the attention his status has been getting to give back to the community. You don’t have to watch. And would you prefer the Boys & Girls club didn’t get the proceeds from this?

That HE is going to be THE story when signing start. I got news for him, he would have been THE story anyway. This whole special is just too much. If it isn’t him then he needs to clean out his inner circle because he is getting some bad advice.

I don't understand the Lebron hate (regarding free agency)

It’s the media’s fault it’s gotten so annoying. James hasn’t done a thing since the postseason to provoke a response from the viewing public. Unless you consider opening a Twitter account and making three tweets is somehow egging the story on.
