Joe Johnson Wrapping up Hawks Deal
Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, who has been close on the heels of Joe's deal and has consistently stated that Joe is looking only at the Atlanta deal, reported that "Johnson's been focused on completing Atlanta deal and sides have been working out various terms. Bulls and Knicks have long since moved on."

just wondering what are the stipulations
and actual amount is
Atlanta will win a championship....someday
yawn
I’m bored of Joe already. Let’s get on with trading Bibby, resolving the Chils situation, and finding some bigs for the bench.
I think this deal has been done for a while now.
Something tells me the Hawks have been working on a couple of trades behind the scenes. No one knew about the Jamal Crawford trade till it happened. What will the next move be? Will they be able to pull of a trade for Chris Paul? Will they try to make a move for Carmelo Anthony? Will Marvin be dealt to Golden State for Monta Ellis? Will Josh be dealt to Washington in a sign and trade deal for Kirk Hinrich? Will the Hawks throw caution to the wind and see if they can catch lightening in a bottle for the 2nd year in a row and make a deal for Gilbert Arenas? Will they bring in Big Z on the MLE?

Your list started good
but monta ellis and Kirk Heinrich? really? that will make us worse
So throwed that Randy Moss jumpin up couldn't even catch it
Hinrich would give the team good depth and
……much needed perimeter defense. He would automatically be the best perimeter defender on the team and can spell whoever starts at point guard as well as play some shootin guard.

Hairlick is not worth it
I take my chances with spending what money Hawks have left, on a big man.
All you had to do to see how despised he was in the cow during the year, was visit their blog site.
The best performances he had were couple games in the playoffs. I say thankx but no thankx for nothing
I'd agree...
I like Hinrich as a player, but with Bibby, Teague, the two Crawfords, Joe, and Mo, we’ve got a decent amount of perimeter options and imo, only need to add there if we also subtract (say Bibby or Jamal). If he only had one year left on his deal, I’d be more inclined to take him, but it doesn’t make sense right now to move Chill for Hinrich instead of McGee or a big. We need SF, PF, C help, not PG/SG help.
The idea that the Hawks have good options....
….on the perimeter is because the fans are overreacting to Dwight Howard from the playoffs and think the Hawks must get better inside. That’s not even remotely the case, as the weakest aspect of the Hawks is their perimeter defense. They will continue to be a poor perimeter defensive team as long as they keep ignoring it.

The fallout of losing Johnson would be huge. Remember most fans don’t know/care about salary stuff, so all they would know is we let our best player go.
Anyways, I’m excited to see the new coaching philosophy in play. ISO-Joe is not the way to go, but he is still our best offensive player in any system. A different coach could be all this team needs to make it past that 2nd round. I know everyone is tired of hearing this, but I’d say that Marvin is still close to becoming a dynamite player. It hurt to see Horford and him not used in a way where they could be more efficient, so hopefully Drew will get the ball moving around more consistently. The one gripe I do have is point guard. Teague is not the answer, IMO. We need a true floor general type point guard. One that will look for and have the ability to create shots for the other guys (something they could do well). CPaul would be a dream come true, but I think Duhon would work well also. Also, we have pretty nice trade pieces. Hopefully we could get something for Chillz, and Jordan/Jamal Crawford are not both needed.

Joe Johnson Signed!!
Joe Johnson has agreed to terms with the Hawks on a maximum-salary contract.
Johnson had reportedly been hesitant to accept the deal and the Knicks were one team that unsuccessfully tried to change his mind.
Johnson’s new contract will be six years in length.

Max contract for 6 years? Half mercy, the guy is already 29 years old and from the reactions I’ve read in past threads this isn’t a player fans are praying stays around. Either way, at least the Hawks will contend in the Easy for the next 6 years, maybe they’ll give away a season? for a 1-3 draft pick.
its not that we don't want him around
We just don’t wanna pay him all that money which will cripple the franchise in the future. but since he is signed, being die hard fans we all will accept it and support him. Liking jj didn’t have anything to do with it
IF YOU CANT ACCEPT LOSING, YOU CANT WIN.

Another year of hearing J J J J J J J JOE JOHNSON FOR THREEEEEEEEEEE
So throwed that Randy Moss jumpin up couldn't even catch it
Out of Bounds
DEEEETROITTTTT BASKETBALLLLLLLL
lol
okay the deal is done now
What’s next? As much as I was against offering that much money, the deed is done. How does ASG plan to bring another top notch FA with the money they just shelled out? Or is all that just hot air?
Bet it hit the rim!
Now that that that's over
Well that has finished now it is time for Rick Sund to make some magic happen. His judgement has been working so far.
so now that the wallets seem to be open let’s see what he can do with this new team.
the real question
to boo or not to boo? he still never apologized for those playoffs comments about the fans, just one of those highly scripted nonpologies athletes turn to these days. still blaming us has never sat right with me.
Well the speculation is over
JJ is Hawks for the forseeable future. What that means, is that at this point Hawks have a better team than finished last year in the second round with addition of rookie Crawford to the team. So if Hawks did nothing else, they should be a better team.
BUT………………
The fun is just beginning. Hawks know that in order to get past round 2 of playoffs, they have to address point guard position and Big man. Assuming Teague is the future and present, I would say Hawks should take a gamble, and not address that position.
That means, we are one big man away from being in contention. Please Hawks, do something, there are servicable big men out there to be had……..
Let’s also give credit to ASG. Spending 120M, regardless of what we may think (personally I Think it is over the top), shows they are willing to spend. Way to go ATL
