Kenny Gattison to Round Out Hawks Coaching Staff

Larry Drew completed his coaching staff on Wednesday by announcing the addition of Kenny Gattison. Gattison is a former player with the Suns, Hornets and Grizzlies. He most recently had been a part of Byron Scott's staff in New Orleans from 2003-2009. He also coached for the New Jersey Nets from 1996-1998.

Gattison joins fellow new comer Lester Conner and holdovers Bob Bender, Tyrone Hill, and advance scout Greg Ballard on new Head Coach Larry Drew's staff. Wally Blase also makes his return as athletic trainer.

Gattison had this to say about joining the Hawks staff:

"I’m excited about the opportunity to join Larry Drew’s staff here in Atlanta," Gattison said. "They have a young and talented, yet experienced nucleus that won 53 games last year. I look forward to helping our players improve individually and collectively."

Head Coach Larry Drew commented on Gattison coming aboard:

"Kenny brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team," said Hawks head coach Larry Drew. "As a big man in this league, he was a blue-collar player with a great work ethic, and those skills have carried over into his coaching style. We’re fortunate to add his voice to our staff."

The staff appears to be now complete. As it appears now, Jim Todd is the only part of Mike Woodson's staff that won't be returning to the bench. Still no word on the status of Mark Price as shooting consultant and whether he might return.

They should just let Mark Price go make money somewhere else

because they’re surely not using him….looking at you, Smoove.

Bet it hit the rim!

or not

They don’t need Price. Josh can help anybody who is having trouble with his mid range jumper.

Josh needs a jumper....

Price could be an asset remeber in that interview with slam that he said he was gonna be shooting mid range if we want to shoot 25% and him being whiny like he is we need mark
