Backup PF for the Hawks, right under our nose....

For those of you who didn't watch the summer league game, let me tell you that the player that shined the most tonight was Alade Aminu for the Hawks. He's 6'10" that can handle the ball, takes high quality shots and runs the court like a gazelle. He was 6 of 8 from the floor, the high scorer for most of the game and for some reason was on the bench the entire last quarter. Around the basket, he's a finisher. He puts me in mind of a smoother J.J. Hickson.

In addition, he played really well with Teague and JC2.

I take this kid over Joe Smith as the backup PF 10 times out of 10!

Did anyone else notice that, or was it just me? Anyone have any other background on him?

we need some more players

I hope that Sund doesn’t wait and sign no one until the last minute like last season. And we need guys who can play, not have a free seat to watch on the bench all year. Collins, are you serious? Being a Gm in Atlanta must mean you don’t have to be smart. We need to make a move bad.Cut your losses and trade Marvin and someone else for a decent big, who can rebound the ball, score down low and play defense please!!! Also there are some good vets out there who will take that minimum. I still would take Stackhouse over Marvin any day even at 35. Earl Baron is another big who can play.He is a free agent 7’0 245 will be 29 he may not be a starter but an inexpensive piece and better than Collins. Sund get serious man. I’m sure between me and some people on here, we can more than handle your job. Don’t round out our roster get guys who can play damn it.

don't think I could handle the GM spot but....

we do need some players…wouldn’t take Stack over Marvin though…
but you’re right we need to take a chance on a 6’11" -7’0" side of beef if anything he can come and foul the isht out of Howard and get 10 rebs and 3 blks

Tolliver ++

I am with you on Tolliver- other teams reportedly interested-c’mon SUND!!! We are a 53 win team that could have won 60. Surely not a hard sell to lower tier free agents!

I like Aminu a lot

I hope he continues to impress. Let’s hope if he is signed that LD will actually use him, unlike Woody.

oh, wait....

Bret LaGree (Hoopinion/TrueHoop Network):
He’s already signed with Chalon for next season. Don’t know if there’s a buyout.

I'd assume he can be bought out or stay home...

if not, it’d make no sense for him to be there, risking injury and the contract with Chalon.

Harrington goes to Denver

It look slike they know something about our Summer league team we don’t know. Aminu, & Pape might be a whole lot better than we all really know. I will say the Jordan surpised me, but it is summer league
