Dear Orlando Magic
I'd like to make a request to the Orlando Magic. Please rest all of your starting five tonight, not so that the Hawks would have a chance at winning, but to prove a point. I have seen nothing in the last three games that indicates the Hawks starting five can compete with the Magic's second unit. Ok, maybe Horford can compete, but the will and drive from the rest has dried up entirely. We need a stake driven into the heart of management and the ownership that this team lacks the components necessary to compete at a championship level and I believe that your second unit can do that. You will still win by 30+ so you have nothing to worry about.
Also, if you really think about it, win or lose, it's still a win-win for the Magic. You win, you move on. You lose, you get to go back to Orlando and finish the series at home for your fans and your starting five get a little rest. We all know Dwight would like to rest that busted nose. So, be a sport for fans of basketball and support the fans of the Hawks in helping us leave no room for doubt that the Hawks team needs serious adjustments.
Thanks!
P.S. To any and all Hawks fans, feel free to use this as your official fan rant thread. This is where emotional and illogical thought processes can be freely voice in full. Enjoy!

or is it just a bad match up?
well, at least Denver and Dallas didn’t make it past round 1…
but aside from that having trouble finding anything positive to say
The Western Conference...
where every playoff team is a 50+ game winner, is a bit different than getting taken to the wire by a depleted Bucks team and then blasted by the Magic as you never put up a fight.
you have a fun, classy team to watch, ive never seen a player with less fire( unless he’s on a fast break) than J smoove, if joe smith woulda got his mins and if Bibby was on the DL you guys might have got a couple games from us.your team made improvement again this year and im proud of the way they helped rep the south east div. and you should be too. good luck next year!
you should know i bleed blue, but I aint a cripp tho.
I think woody deserves at least 1 more year, with a good PG and a PF that dont quit on every other play, there arent many coaches out there who would even be able to acomplish what woody has with this team. to be honest ive alwasy hated SVG for not playing to his teams strenghts but now he has everybody playing his style of ball and i gotta say its some of the best ive seen, i think woodys system can work too he just needs the right pieces, again the only problem i see with ATL is the 1 and the 4- where Al should be DOMINATING, I was a big smoove fan till this post season, now he seems like the biggest waste of tallent in the NBA.

Those problems illustrate why Woody shouldn't be kept on
He makes no in-game adjustments and no game-to-game adjustments. He has no ability to get his players on board with his philosophy like you have shown with SVG. He has no ability to motivate and prepare the players for games. He has no ability to command respect from the players. He claims to be a defensive guru yet we’ve never been higher than 12th in defensive efficiency. He states that the offense will work itself out essentially admitting that he has no philosophy for the offense, gives it no input or direction, and yet the players talent and fortitude alone keeps it in the top five for offensive efficiency.
Being able to draft lottery picks and let them grow together and win more games is not a skill performed by a coach. That is simply natural progression. I contend that Woodson did just enough to leave them alone so that they could grow, with a few exceptions such as Law and now Teague. I agree that not every coach would do that, but I do believe that many could.
"You could spend the next fifteen seconds of your life watching a man and a tiger scream together, or you could be an idiot."
Fact.
Woodson was simply a garbage coach
Win a championship by holding a clipboard in Detroit and all of sudden you’re a defensive guru?? WE NEED A NO NONSENSE COACH cough Avery Johnson cough. like i’ve always said, all Woodson knows how to do is make awkward “omg” faces
I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

Teague
I hear what people are saying about Teague, but realistically where would the minutes have come from? Crawford had to get minutes somehow and usually meant Bibby or Marvin on the bench. Woodson wasn’t really in a position to play Bibby and Teague 24 minutes each without taking minutes from Crawford, Joe, Marvin. Man, I just defended Woody.
i must say, you're a brave man

My thoughts
There were plenty of games we lost the game before the full 48 minutes had been played and yet we still saw no signs of Teague. I would have started there. The next area I would have looked to see Teague get more playing time were during all those damned three gaurd lineups Woodson used consisting of JJ, JC, and Bibby. I would have instead had Teague in for Bibby just to see if he could lead and facilitate JJ and JC.
Depending on how those two things went, I would have looked to get him in much earlier during the second half of the season so as to see how he could run with the first unit early in a game. It’s hard for me to put a number on the total amount of minutes he would see for the year because each week would be dependent on the previous. However, I don’t think I would have ever let him end up with zero minutes played, or in the least, not many.

Fact.
The easy part: every minute Mario West played should have gone to Teague aside from garbage time when they both played.
Joe played too many minutes, so you could easily take some from him. Crawford played too many minutes when he was shooting cold so take some from home. Some of Mo Evans’ and Marvin’s minutes could have gone to Teague too.
If Woody had been committed to playing Teague, he could have found the minutes.
Sooo....
…we wanted to see some sort of COACHING from a COACH…
I know I know….sounds bizarre.
I see Teague with potential to be as much of a factor if not greater than what Bayless showed in the Portland series.
Hard to evaluate talent when you don’t evaluate talent. I believe Acie Law would’ve worked as well, but when you get stuck with a coach who doesn’t coach…how can you grow?
