The Most Important Thing About: Game One
The recaps have been posted and the links have been offered. Now it's time for you to say what was the most important thing coming out of Game One?
Was it the second half letdown/let-back-in the Hawks offered their guests?
Or was it the blitz the Hawks laid on the Bucks in the first half?
Brandon Jennings showing he can get shots wherever he may want against the Hawks and his subsequent point explosion? Or was it Josh Smith and Al Horford doing the same?
Maybe it was just that Game One is in the books, and it's 1-0 A-T-L.
What say you? You've had time to take it in---you feel what happened---what the most important thing about Game One?

In the first half
Al looked incredible. He created a ton of energy in the arena and couldn’t be stopped. He was getting the rock in the post and on the break. Then we got away from that in the second half. The passes into the post were not clean and Ilyasova must have batted away at least 6 of them, but there still should have been more of them.
As for Josh, I don’t even remember him getting the ball in the second half offense until late 4th quarter. He seemed to be standing around a lot on offense, while Horford at least was always working. One more point about Horford: whenever he gets the ball in the post, he is isolated. Bad idea.
The defense played against Brandon Jennings, for the most apart, was really good and he was just stroking the ball with guys in his face. Then, again in the second half, the Hawks got sloppy and decided that he was the right guy to switch off of and leave open. I don’t think Jennings will score that much for the rest of the series, but the switching was really awful and needs to be corrected.

The most important thing:
Hawks fans dont pay attention. C’mon wear white
Watching Bobby Cox pick boogers since 1995

Agreed
I can understand the casual fans who just wore normal clothes for not knowing or being indifferent but if you gonna wear Hawks apparel you could make it white. I mean they were selling white t-shirts there for $5
the white t-shirts were for sale for $5 inside Phillips too
the funniest scene was seeing three guys, hawks fans, walk in with black shirts midway through 1st qtr in my section
a buddy of mine
told me about the white out. but he only knew about it through talking to a friend of his that works for the Hawks. Whoever’s job it is to spread the word on these things, isn’t really getting it out there…
We didn't let them take the game
They made their run and while no one is happy with how they made it we didn’t allow them to finish the job and we still managed to win by 10.
agreed, plus this is the playoffs
you cant expect blowouts all the time.
So throwed that Randy Moss jumpin up couldn't even catch it
the dominant first half
Hawks showed the bucks what they working within although the second half wasn’t great they managed to keep the lead
IF YOU CANT ACCEPT LOSING, YOU CANT WIN.

We won
Plain and simple…we won…I wasn’t at all worried that we wouldn’t win that game. Josh was aloof throughout much of the 2nd half and that’s disturbing. I agree with the earlier post: PEOPLE, PLEASE WEAR WHITE TO THE GAMES!!!
Bet it hit the rim!
1 down, 3 to go
The Hawks won. Nobody got hurt. That’s what Atlanta needed. This isn’t figure skating. There are no Russian judges to dock points for an ugly second half.
Definitely better..
…than figuring out what went completely wrong. Win = win

The most important thing
JC taking that first dip into the playoff waters and still getting his like it’s any other normal game. To me, this might be the most important thing, not only for this series, but also the next. Sure, maybe it being the Bucks helps, but getting those butterflies out early and getting into his rythym is very important.
Second to that, I’d have to say that Bibby finally finding his stroke again is also very important. The defense will never get better, but his shooting comes and goes and if he’s not making shots, he’s practically worthless outside of 15mins a game. I don’t want that, you don’t want that, Baby Jesus doesn’t want that, so let’s all hope that Bibby has got it good for the rest of the playoffs.
What better time than right now?
"You could spend the next fifteen seconds of your life watching a man and a tiger scream together, or you could be an idiot."
Fact.
Good points on the Bibster
and I loved Crawford getting some of his there in Game 1.
