Excited to hear that he has a better chance of staying in ATL. Hopefully he is committed to staying, which might also put his team mates at ease. Any thoughts hawksfans? how do you feel about his claims? I would still love to be able to land D wade but I highly doubt it. Maybe we still need a new coach to fully utilize our roster.

I can't understand why he'd want to leave.
He can get as much or more money from the Hawks, the Hawks have literally built a team around his skill set, that team is very young, and hasn’t even come close to reaching its potential.
The only reason he’d want to leave would be marketability purposes, but JJ still has the opportunity to make a lot more money in the endorsement area in Atlanta but doesn’t take advantage of it. It’s just his personality. So, I don’t see any real reason for him to want to leave unless he doesn’t like the organization, which I suppose is possible.
Actually that is one of two major sticking points.
The Hawks probably can not offer him as much money as another team, even if the league does not go to a hard cap, due to ownership. The second point is, that despite the constant “Fire Woody” chatter, The best chance to retain JJ for less than a max contract is to retain Woodson for the same period, as that is who he wants to play for, and he personaly feels that Woody should have been extented based on the teams improvement.

I hope he stays
I think he will stay, but I hear him and D Wade are friends, and if I was D-Wade I would be in his ear about coming to a Miami team will probably add Amare or Bosh. How many championships would that be??….maybe the Hawks could get Bosh to Atl
They might
But I think someone around is smart enough to realize that neither of these guys is a PG. They might try to turn Wade into a distributor, but ultimately, it wouldn’t work out.
I definitely think Cleveland fans hoping to add JJ have a more realistic dream of JJ playing with LeBron-that actually would have a chance.
I would think...
say they sign Hinrich, or Steve Blake, or Daniel Gibson, someone who can hit open shots, play decent D (ok, Gibson probably misses here), and doesn’t need the ball a lot, you could run Wade at 2, Joe at 3 since he has the thickness for it, and Beasley at the 4.
If ya ask me,...
it’s cause he’s not very good. I was surprised he played as much, and as well, as he did last year. He’s not bad, but I never saw a legit NBA starter when watching him in Kansas or in an AAU camp prior to his senior year. But also, I think if you had a backcourt of Wade and Joe Johnson, that is enough handle to make up for the lack of a true point, although they would also dominate the ball reducing Beasley and others touches severely.
