The Hawks today announced that they have exercised their contract option on Jeff Teague for the 2011-12 season. Financial Terms were not disclosed per team policy. 

Teague is looking at potentially a much bigger role for the Hawks this season after playing very inconsistent minutes last season as a rookie. It remains to be seen whether or not he can wrestle the starting job away from Mike Bibby. At any rate the Hawks now have him locked up through the 2011-12 season.
