The NBA's response to my email regarding the Cleveland shot clock "error"
After the now infamous Cleveland game with the shotclock error, I was so annoyed by the awful officiating that I took the time to write an email to the NBA about the blatant error. They kindly took the time to respond to me today, a whole month later, most likely because they waited for David Stern to talk to Lebron about it. In case anyone is interested, the NBA's response is below.
Dear [redacted],
Thank you for contacting the National Basketball Association regarding the Atlanta Hawks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers game on December 30.
Following the game, the Atlanta Hawks filed an official protest with the league office seeking an investigation into the operation of the shot clock with 1:56 remaining in the fourth quarter. Yesterday, the NBA announced that Commissioner David Stern has denied the Atlanta Hawks' protest of their 106-101 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Dec. 30, 2009.
In the protest, the Hawks argued that the failure of the shot clock operator to reset the shot clock following a defensive rebound by Atlanta with 1:57 remaining in the game warranted a replay of the game from that point forward.
Commissioner Stern determined that the shot clock error did not have a clear impact on the game's outcome and therefore did not justify the extraordinary remedy of granting the protest and overturning the game's result.
Thanks again for sharing your concerns with us. We very much appreciate your interest in the NBA.
Sincerely,
NBA Fan Relations

ugh their so dumb.
Now im starting to believe its a conspiracy but that may bring the troll back so neva mind.
no troll
I don’t understand why you are calling me a troll. First of all, I was on the thread here the game before this one and clearly posting that the clear path foul on Josh Smith was bogus. I saw the play and the ref call, and also noticed Mike Woodson’s reaction. I agreed with Mike Woodson and was sticking up for your coach. I thought the call was nonsense. The main reason besides the fact that Delonte just got the ball and had not started a fast break, also being 60 feet from the basket, was that after 4:05 into the 4th Qtr only 2 points were scored by both teams. So how could you make up a bogus clear path foul like that, then T up Woodson, and put 3 points on the board in a 4th qtr in which nobody was scoring. And even though I had agreed with Mike Woodson, various Hawks posters were telling me that I shouldn’t be telling them a call was phony. Like they were the ones disagreeing with Coach Woodson, and I was the one agreeing with him.
I knew that call was baloney. Which is why I came on for the following game’s thread and told everyone. Look, you are playing in Cleveland. They do funny things there. It is going to be close, because the Hawks are just as good as the Cavs, and then late in the game some form of baloney call will happen that goes against the rulebook and the Cavs will win, because it is LeBron’s birthday and they don’t want to give them another home loss, only 35 games into the season.
That is exactly what happened. I posted before the game that was going to happen, and then low and behold that is exactly what did happen with the shot clock, and the Hawks protest.
And I would be right there to agree with you on your letter to the league. That’s not trolling. Unless you want to call Mike Woodson a troll, which would be unfair. All I was ever doing was sticking up for your coach.
okay wait wait wait
How do you know I was even talking about you? there are plenty other annoying bloggers but i guess the old saying “a hit dog will holler” is true.

If I had a copy I would of course...
but I had submitted it on NBA.com on an automated form. I am actually surprised they took the time to reply to my email even though their reply is basically a generic recap of the press release.
Fact: Stern will do whatever it takes to keep his stars happy in the NBA
He loses money when talent goes overseas
