Flip Murray signing with the Charlotte Bobcats
I never liked Flip Murray leaving. And that feeling has only been intensified by a contract under 2 million dollars with a southeast division team. (HT dstdeelite)

not saying it was a bad move to let him go...
but this one might hurt, and he’s going to do real well for the Bobcats. They have some Gs—Augustin is good, then Felton, Raja Bell, and Gerald Henderson, but I get the feeling if Larry Brown can live with the occassional “heat check”, he’s gonna get a lot of minutes for them and probably have a pretty good stat line with double digit scoring.
There aren’t enough minutes for Flip, Crawford, and Teague. Bringing Flip back would have ensured Woodson would give Jeff the Acie/Salim treatment. Maybe Flip would be worth a couple more wins this year, but it wouldn’t be enough to get the Hawks the 3rd seed. It’s better in the long run that Teague gets a chance to play.
i am with you
we don’t need flip with crawford.
but that 10 million we pay crawford next year looms large when we could of had flip for 2. i like crawford more. think he is an upgrade, love that we traded trash for him but that second year is hard to ignore.
2nd year is not bad.
I think the second year serves as an insurance against Joe not resigning…If he ( Crawford)plays very well this year and Joe is asking for crazy money or wants to head to NY, NJ etc , I dont mind using the Joe money to go after a legit center.
Wahhhhh! Sniff, sniff!
I’ve read a lot of comments stating that the team doesn’t need Flip because of Jamal. Well my response is, I hope so! At first I was a little skeptical of Flip and used to think he was a bit of a ball hog. As the season progressed I became a fan of the way he was determined to score the ball no matter what. By season’s end I started wondering why Flip hasn’t found a permanent team. I was hoping that maybe Atlanta could be that team for Flip. Oh well! Flip has flipped to another team. “We don’t need Ronald Flip Murray because we got Jamal Crawford.” Huh! Well I hope so!
Flip played to his strength
Woodson use of Flip was excellent. He used him to take advantage of smaller guards and to get instant offence off the bench. However, he played against th second team and was used for match up advantage. I doubt it that he would have been this successful against starters. His production fell in the playoffs to strengthen my point.
Crawford is a much better player and also a much better assist guy.
Soooooooooo
Is Ryan Cameron gonna go back to dryly calling him Ronald Murray instead of Flip when the Bobcats come to town?

I am pretty sad to see him go
Flip was perfect for the way we used him. Loved when he got hot and would just demoralize teams.
I will mostly miss yelling “HOT FLIP!”
