Mike Woodson is mad as hell and going to keep taking it some more.
I have found you only complain about your boss in public for one of the three reasons.
1. You think public support will rally around you.
2. You lack communication skills to actually talk to your boss about the problem so must go another root.
3. Don't understand when to talk and when not too.
Mike Woodson recently started talking about his boss to Yahoo! and the lack of an extension coming from those higher ups. Since I already know Woodson is not spry on his feet when it comes to ol' press row. I am not going to speculate Woody's motives, but I think, once and for all, we can rule out whether he reads Peachtree Hoops.
Am I a little disappointed that none of my staff and I were extended contracts this year? You’re damn right I am because we deserve it. We deserve it with what we’ve done this past year. Any other coach probably would have been extended without a doubt.
No, Mike other coaches would have been fired. At a minimum, through the off-season long term commitments, the Hawks have shown they want to stay in the area of the fourth seed. For a man that has a career record of .389, I don't think it is grossly uncalled for that Woodson has to prove he can keep the team there two years in a row.

When you think about the fact
that (as Schultz pointed out) he’s only had one winning season, heck no he doesn’t deserve an extension! Yes the team got better, but hell there’s really nowhere to go but up when you come out and win 13 games.

Hell no he doesn’t. The Hawks have achieved the minimum that could have been expected of them given their roster talent under Woodson. A better coach would have had a winning record and better than 8th seed in ‘07-’08 and would have won in fewer games vs the Heat this year. Woodson is no longer a rookie coach and it’s not excusable any longer that he benches his best players for full quarters rather than trust them to avoid fouling out, still doesn’t have any kind of offensive scheme other than iso-Joe or shoot a 3 with 3 seconds on the clock, and hasn’t been able to better develop Josh Smith and Marvin Williams. This offseason the Hawks have committed themselves to the current roster for the next few years so now they must get a new coach who can do more with that roster than Woodson has proven able to.

Should have got Flip Saunders when we had the chance. Now even the Wiz are going to pressure us in the division..

The Hawks have improved every year under Mike Woodson. Why would anyone even consider that he should be fired? The only question is, “How much of a raise should he and the staff get?” These kinds of remarks have been rampant all over the internet ever since the mid-nineties and are so negatively impactful. There are certain behaviors that lead to success and others that lead to unhappiness and failure. Such comments as those implying that Mike Woodson is doing an inadequate job of coaching the Hawks are of the latter type. I propose that all of you who find yourselves believing that you deserve to casually throw darts at people who give you their best effort do a doubletake of your lives before you find yourselves under your own scrutiny…
