Around SBN: Will Rhymes 'Fine' After Being Hit By Pitch And Fainting

with the second pick ....Part II.

Okay here's why we the Hawks should have picked Granger.

The guy has improved by an astonishing 5 points each season since he joined the league. This shows that even at an average of 25 points, we probably have not seen the best of Danny. Chris Paul and Deron Williams have probably peaked as going forward, the coaches have made comments about reducing their minutes to increase their efficiency and durability.

Marvins first 2 years were just as good as Granger. Hence, it is safe to say that our chances of picking up Horford would have been just as good with Atlanta picking Danny. ( I know it is a lottery system so i am reaching here).

A 6-8 guy with 3 point range and a very decent defender? What is not to like about him. You can afford to build your team around him. Just imagine if Indiana had a decent AllStar to complement Danny. He is the only legit player on the team full of spot up shooters and he has been able to consistently improve despite being the main focus for other teams.

Imagine a front court tandem of  Josh and Danny. Picture  a Marvin Williams who is more aggresive and not afraid to take it to the hole. Boston Celtics won the championship with a second year developing  point guard. Lakers won the championship with an aging point guard. Just goes to show that you do not need an All Star point guard to win. Heck, Orlando was just as good with Rafer as they were with their All Star point guard Jemeer Nelson.

As this article shows,http://basketball-statistics.com/atwhichpositionsaregreatplayersthemostimportant.html. The small forward is probably the most important position. Granger is the best Small forward of that draft.

So please before you make any comments about why the Hawks should have picked Chris Paul, note that there is no guarantee that we would have been a better team than we are now.

Marvin is not what we need

I could name 10 players easily that I would rather have than Marvin that were picked after him in some draft. Truth of the matter I would rather have some rookie guys that people are sleeping on such as James Johnson and Sam Young. I would rather have Rudy Gay, Al Thorton, Deng, the beat goes on and on. Not what I like in a player and he wants to haggle over a couple of hundred thousand $$$’s, please trade this guy
