Say No to Josh Smith for Amare Stoudemire

I just heard this reported on ESPN that the two teams have spoken and the Hawks are willing to part with Josh Smith for Amare. Why would the Hawks do this? Amare has been injured each of the last 3 years and he doesn't play any defense at all. I would not trade Josh for Amare as I have stated before. I would possibly trade Marvin Williams, Josh Childress (if he returns) as the primary players for Stoudemire. This would be a huge mistake for the Hawks. Steve Nash would make Josh Smith into Shawn Marion deluxe, meaning, 25 pts, 10 reb, 4 ast, and the Hawks would look just as stupid as they would be for making this trade. The Suns style is taylor-made for Josh Smith and the Hawks style is not good taylor-made for Stoudemire.

I think the Hawks should stay with Josh Smith. Amare is a more dominant player, but he would disrupt the team’s chemistry, and his injuries have effected him. Josh Smith is on the rise…his post game is better, he is stronger, and quicker. All he needs to work on is his mid range J.

C- Amare Stoudemire
PF- Al Horford
SF- Marvin Williams
SG- Joe Johnson
PG- Mike Bibby

Atlantasports101…how is that starting 5 dirupted? I dont’ even like Marvin, but with him in this line-up his shooting percentage would go up a whole lot…he would look like a true hooper in this line-up…heck…i would…

I would rather the hawks give up Marvin…why? Well seeing how high he went in the draft…everyone the hawks should of drafted has been to the All-Star game and not to mention won a gold medal…has marvin Been to an All-Star game as a player…has he been considered to be on the team? Has he won an gold medal…was he even considered to be on the team?.

..Marvin & Childress in a package deal for any solid big man would be a good trade…And if Josh Smith dont get in the gym and work on his jump shot this off season…I will be writing on here next year about trading him….jether

Josh Smith's attitude reduces his value to this team.

I’d trade him for a seat cushion and “We’re #1” Hawks foam finger…

I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three.

The more I read

The more I read the more weary I am of Stoudemire and Bosh. Starting to think neither is worth the hassle they both will want crazy money, close to $20 mill a year is what Stoudemire supposedly wants. So, Bosh will be looking for the same. At this point, I would much rather go after Kaman or Camby because the Clips may be damn near forced to move a big and who the hell wants Zach Randolph?

Aside from blocking shots (which he did a lot less of last year), Josh doesn’t exactly play much defense either. I do agree that Stoudamire is too big an injury risk right now to trade for Smith.
