Most importantly, NEW OWNERS. But, also includes new coach — why can’t “other” be related to Mike Woodson?
Joe needs to trust his teammates and give up the rock quicker
Another good one. I’m going with Joe deferring. Until that happens players like Marvin, Al, and Acie will be limited in their development and the Hawks’ offense will be the same old Joe iso until 5 seconds then force a difficult shot affair we all love so much.
Acie is non-existent
He and Marvin both would not benefit any by playing with freaking Jason Kidd. These guys just aren’t as good as the measured out in these silly combines. Marvin didn’t even start in college. Yes, it was a national championship loaded squad, but they all were overrated, non of them have lived up to there draft positions. Felton is the closest. Acie played for a club were he was the star. That should tell you enough right there. Everything was built around Acie and he isn’t accustomed and can not fine his self being a role player. These guys both need to go. We need something for them both because they were mistakes. Sheldon Williams, mistake gone. Josh Childress, mistake, he is okay but 5th pick, horrible, he needs to be gone as soon as he hits American soil. Marvin Williams, mistake, Acie Law, mistake need to go bye-bye.

You are way overstating it. It’s good that you have passion about the team, but you are blaming the players for the coaches mis-management of them, and to a greater extent, this team as a whole. There is so little data for Acie that none of us, including you, can form an objective opinion of his ability at the NBA level. As for Marvin, it is of my opinion that you are far off in your evaluation of his worth to this team and his ability. But, that’s your opinion and I’m going to end with that we are just going to have to disagree.

It’s pretty much impossible to know how good Acie is which is the point. When Acie plays with Joe, he dribbles up to the 3 point line then passes to Joe and goes and stand around watching the rest of the play passively. Replace Acie with another PG in the draft and it will just be the same thing as long as the offense is heavily dependent on Joe Johnson isolation plays. Same deal with Marvin and Al. They both have promising offensive games which need to be developed more but it won’t happen as long as the offense consists of Joe dribbling at the 3 point line then forcing up a shot as time expires.

Which is why I believe the problem isn’t with these players, but with Woodson and to a lesser extent, Joe. I’ve said it before, until Sund (or whoever holds this position) forces Woody’s hand in who he can play, it will NOT matter who we draft as they will sit on the bench with false promises of being included before each year. Sometimes I think Woodson just wishes he didn’t have to use a bench whatsoever so he could just send in five and not have to do any actual coaching.

We need some pure shooters on our team.
I hear the Celtics are shopping Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo. Can we get some of that action? We’re in need of a PG and a bonafide shooter. Comments?

All such tempting choices, but there's only 1 answer
1st being Josh Smith’s jump shot, to myself I said hmmm well if J-smoove ever becomes marginally good at jump shots, defenders can’t sag off of him on D
2nd being smoove not taking jumpers, hanging around the rim for more rebounds doesnt seem like a bad idea, p[lus Josh is a great post player.
3rd Average Joe just needs to learn how to pass in my opinion
4th Marvin settling for the jumper is annoying, but Marvin’s jumper is not as important as the last few possible answers
5th Horford’s post game is good enough for me
6th Other … wait it can’t be related to Mike Woodson? then I give up
Josh Smith doesn’t need to be working on his jumper-he does that all the time anyway. Hint: It’s not going to improve. His mechanics are bad, his release point is awful. At best, he only has a general idea where the ball is going when he lets it go.

I’ll leave this as a comment for any and all who think Josh should continue working on his jumper, instead of working on not taking it to begin with. Personally, if you think he should keep working on it, then I am inclined to question your understanding of the jump shot and it’s fundamental mechanics. Smoove’s jump shot makes baby basketballs cry. Its hideous.

Smoove's jumper
It has got to be… getting Smoove to be a better jump shooter. He needs to stop taking threes and come inside the line and shoot that at a high rate. Joe gives up the rock to those who can knock down the shots. When he didn’t have help he had to keep the ball. Now that Bibby, Mo, Flip are here he can drive and kick out to someone who can make the shot. Ray can’t come to the Hawks there is nowhere to play him and he’s not riding the bench. Rondo can defend but he can’t shoot. The starting lineup the Hawks have can win 50 games next year. They just need more points on the bench, a back up PG and a Center who can defend the rim. If we do it right we can be in the EC Finals in 2yrs
Decent Post
Decent post. I’m split two ways on this.
1. Josh and his decision making all around which includes not taking the jumper unless it’s an up against the clock situation.
2. Al Hortford’s post-up game and to be frank his offensive game all around. Al is 2 quick to not be taking Big Z all game from the mid-post or 15 feet out he has got to get a clear out and take guys like that.
Lastly if I wanted Marvin as a part of this team he could have possibly been #1 because Marvin is very passive for a guy that some people feel like has the most upside of any of the 3 young starters and was the #2 pick. I want Marvin moved to help us take the next step so I dont care if he is aggressive or not because he should be another teams problem.
