Monta Ellis for Joe Johnson? Would you guys do it?

We would throw in Brandan Wright and/or Marco Belinelli for filler. You would get a solid offensive weapon at the 1 and 2 position who is locked up long term, as well as a solid shooting prospect and/or a good post product. Also would Josh Smith be available? What deals can we do with the Hawks and what can you guys do with the Warriors?

Thanks and Greetings from Golden State of Mind/GSoM!

No and No

No to Monta for Joe. No Josh is not available. Maybe we can talk if you somehow land Blake Griffin or Thabeet, other than that no thanks.

Hawks Warriors Trade

ejdacanay…funny I should catch your post. I’ve been brooding over a Hawks/Warriors deal since midway through last year. I love this idea…let me know what you think:

Hawks Trade:
Al Horford
Acie Law
Atlanta’s 2009 1st Round Draft Pick (19th overall)

Warriors Trade:
Stephen Jackson
C. J. Watson

I’m of the opinion that you guys should focus on Allen Iverson. Golden State has done an awesome job drafting, but you guys will starve to death without some star power.

Monta Ellis is so versatile, I think he could play small forward for you guys. At least you could go 2 or 3 guards alot of the time.

Maggette, Morrow, Azubuike, and Horford would be a pretty strong rotation of players at small and power forward. Also, Horford can play center. You have Jamal Crawford, assuming he doesn’t use his early termination clause and sign someplace else. If you guys can make a committment to Crawford, I think you’ll love the results

As for Joe Johnson, I’m expecting the Hawks to sign him again, so moving him wouldn’t be an option.

I think the Hawks will be aggressive this off-season and might surprise the populous with some spending. Next year might be the big year for free agents, but I think there are some excellent values this offseason.

As for the trade. I love it for you guys. Law is going to be a great player. He’s a little bit of a project on a team full of sensitive players, and the combination isn’t working well. I’m not surprised that it’s not going well, but I am SURE he’ll be starting somewhere 5 years from now. I also believe he’ll end up an all-star caliber player. If you know his story, you know what I mean. Horford would really help you guys up front, especially on the glass, and you get a pick to replace C. J. Watson!

No...No...NO

Why in the world would we trade Al…for the past two years he has been here he has improved…not to mention he almost got rookie of the year…the Hawks arent trading him or Joe…they are going to build around those 2, watch…

Idk…I like the Josh Smith & Mike Bibby to GS for Monta Ellis & Corey Maggette…Then you would have Flip coming off the bench…with Acie Law (who needs to show us something this season) behind him….your startting back court would consist of 2 extremely good guards Joe & Monta..with Monta…a pretty par 3pt shooter but consistant scorer….then you would have Corey and Horford as your forwards…Corey is a way better shooter and shot maker than Josh…then the hawks wouldnt need a PG at the #19 pick…you go for a big man who can play immediately….

Although I dont think GS would just take Bibby & Smith only…they would want a draft pick in 2011or 12 or another player that they seee potential in like Othella…or Morrison (who believe it or not is a great shooter)…

This is my Hawks starting 5 wish list for 2009/10 season

PG- Monta Ellis
SG-Joe Johnson
SF-Corey Maggette
PF-Al Horford
C- somebody-maybe in the draft or free agency
