Was reading the game preview at the rival blog

and I think they were talking about me. Pop over and check their game-day thread where they talk about how “whiney and ill-informed Hawks fans are.”

After I turned game 6 off halfway through the fourth quarter, I felt so disgusted with my team that I decided to pop over and offer congratulations for the Heat handing out an ass-whipping.

The following ensued:

Congratulations from a Hawks Fan See you in game 7

So you’re the one (Obviously a joke about our fanbase)

Haha…I’ve heard that one before

I bet you have (I had to defend Atlanta’s fanbase so I made one more comment)

Got to say though…being talk about Atlanta being a poor sports town… Lot of empty seats in Miami at the start of this one. Not that it mattered. Got to score to win, and the Hawks left their baskets in the locker room.

At this point people commented that Miami fans are usually a late arriving crowd because they’re busy, rich, and beautiful, whereas Atlanta fans have nothing to do but cash unemployment checks. And someone made fun of my name, of all things.

So, in the gameday thread, my comment on the late arriving game 6 crowd was even quoted, and then the comment about whiney, ill-informed Atlanta fans.

I can only assume from my three posts over there that the author decided we’re all whiney and ill-informed. And I can’t even say I was whiney, and there’s no way I said enough for anyone to know I was ill-informed. Perhaps they were reading comments over from this blog, but, well, that would be their own problem.

What ever happened to friendly conversations between fans?

Win or Go Home

This is gonna be bad. Have we won on national tv this year? Dont think so.

Win or lose

I’m not sure I have enough beer.

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 1:13 PM EDT reply actions

truer words have never been spoken

i cant even eat my lunch i am so nervous.

by hawksdawgs on May 3, 2009 1:14 PM EDT up reply actions

I have a million beers and about 50 gallons of liquor.

If I survive this game, I better get a will ready!

BTW…great to see Horf out there balling, and Bibby is gonna be a MONSTER today!

by Duff_Man on May 3, 2009 1:15 PM EDT up reply actions

He didn't finish that sentance

He should have said “Work it around until you can find the man (being guarded by Bibby)”

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 1:19 PM EDT reply actions

How is Josh Smith already an enigma?

3-3 shooting, 2 rebounds, an assists, but also 2 tunovers already.

He’s an enigma on both micro- and macro- scales.

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 1:21 PM EDT reply actions

Gosh.

I remember when the Hawks played offense? When was that, game 5?

Seems so long ago.

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 1:23 PM EDT reply actions

Oh my holy God

Zaza has to score on something like that.

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 1:25 PM EDT reply actions

good play by josh

but a better play would have been to pass it for an easy bucket.

by hawksdawgs on May 3, 2009 1:26 PM EDT reply actions

After his 30 second breather

Josh Smith is acting like less of an enigma. Got the blocked shot, then drained a couple of free throws. Also secured another board.

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 1:32 PM EDT reply actions

1st quarter

was alright. could use a few more rebounds… let’s go hawks.

by tentenlarry on May 3, 2009 1:34 PM EDT reply actions

They're getting every loose ball,

I don’t think it’s a lack of effort by the Hawks, the bounces aren’t going their way. Hopefully things will even out.

by Buzzsaw on May 3, 2009 1:35 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm still upset

that the blog author at “Peninsula is Mightier” decided all Hawks fans are whiney and ill-informed because I commented on the late arriving Heat crowd at game 6 (see above comment).

Am I seething too long over this?

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 1:35 PM EDT reply actions

Apparently that's normal

when I went over to offer congrats while Atlanta was in the latter stages of an ass-whipping, someone made a lame joke about Hawks fans.

I commented back that even though Atlanta gets a bad rap, there were a lot of empty seats at the start of that game. Miami commentors informed me that since Miami residence are busy, rich, and beautiful, they seldom arrive on time.

Blog author today says HAwks fans are whiney and ill-informed in his game preview, and quotes me specifically.

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 1:39 PM EDT up reply actions

ZAZA!

I remember the first time I took my friend, Daniel, to a Hawks game, he thought Ryan Cameron was just making noises every time Zaza scored.

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 1:40 PM EDT reply actions

Flip Murray

Somehow is always involved in momemtum changing plays, one way or another.

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 1:43 PM EDT reply actions

the bad thing about wade is he hits impossible answer shots

the good thing about wade is those answer shots are usually bad shots.

by hawksdawgs on May 3, 2009 1:45 PM EDT reply actions

At least he isn't Kobe

Kobe will hit shots that are REALLY impossible. Two defenders draped over him, no view of the basket, and drains a three from the edge of the center-court Hawk logo.

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 1:47 PM EDT up reply actions

zaza loose ball grab

for the flip murray three was just huge.

by hawksdawgs on May 3, 2009 1:46 PM EDT reply actions

I lik the Joe/Josh pick and roll

Wish it had resulted in points, but it still looks good.

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 1:51 PM EDT reply actions

Van Gundy's the best,

he calls out all the BS that normal guys don’t

by Buzzsaw on May 3, 2009 1:52 PM EDT up reply actions

With the series that James Jones is having

There’s nowhere to hide Bibby on defense. But he did a good job there.

And answers with a THREE!!!

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 1:53 PM EDT reply actions

If Lebron or Kobe or even Wade did it, it would be a non-issue.

by Mike Kerns on May 3, 2009 1:58 PM EDT up reply actions

Even though its been an awful series,

there have still been stories. Wade, obviously. Hawks injuries. O’Neal’s reemergence. ESPN is just taking what the Heat are complaining about and running with it.

by Buzzsaw on May 3, 2009 2:00 PM EDT up reply actions

i love that they are mentioning

1. wade was complaining
2. it was not a foul
3. it allowed joe to be wide open.

by hawksdawgs on May 3, 2009 2:00 PM EDT reply actions

WOW

I seriously thought was going to drop in.

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 2:02 PM EDT reply actions

i seriously thought

he was going to shoot the jumper.

by hawksdawgs on May 3, 2009 2:03 PM EDT up reply actions

Good news for the Hawks

Jo-Jo Reyes is pitching for the Braves today. By my rule, a Braves loss = a Hawks win.

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 2:04 PM EDT reply actions

ACK!

Thought that was in!

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 2:07 PM EDT reply actions

This game is insane!

Joe crushing, Shrimp Boat repping! Hot Flip!

And not one “Nature Boy” yet!

by Duff_Man on May 3, 2009 2:12 PM EDT reply actions

Looks like we won't be seeing Marvin ...

probably for the best. If he can’t shoot, there’s no point in playing him this series. He’d just be standing on the three pt line guarding James Jones. Mo’s doing a really nice job on Wade too, give JJ some rest.

by Buzzsaw on May 3, 2009 2:13 PM EDT reply actions

It seems dumb

But the Hawks, without Marvin, are best sticking to a 7.1 man rotation (Mario’s 1 minute cameos don’t really count).

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 2:15 PM EDT reply actions

I reply to my own comments a lot

and this one is probably just being obnoxious.

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 2:16 PM EDT up reply actions

Brent(or Rick) Barry

Says the Hawks can’t touch the Cavs if the Hawks win this game?

Doesn’t that sound familiar? (vs Celtics about 366 days ago)

http://www.49ersboard.blogspot.com

by supraman on May 3, 2009 2:19 PM EDT reply actions

I agree, though

Last year, I did believe the Hawks could make the series interesting, which they did.

This year, I doubt their capability to win more than one game against the Cavs.

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 2:24 PM EDT up reply actions

Where's the blind faith?

http://www.49ersboard.blogspot.com

by supraman on May 3, 2009 2:30 PM EDT up reply actions

To be fair

(Whichever) Barry should have said that neither team can touch the Cavs. The winner of this series is just a prelude to the conference finals for them.

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 2:32 PM EDT up reply actions

Hafltime went by quickly

And JJ decides that he wants the ball.

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 2:30 PM EDT reply actions

Smith almost dunked that!!!

For the record

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 3:56 PM EDT up reply actions

All right, looking ahead to Cleveland

Let’s hope Marvin is healthy. We can’t stop LeBron, and Marvin is probably our only chance of slowing the man down. Any possession JJ is guarding LeBron is one we’ll probably regret.

by Bronn on May 3, 2009 4:00 PM EDT reply actions

Not to mention the possessions when Mo is guarding him

I’d rather have Josh Smith on him than Mo Evans.

Actually, can we just add Josh Childress to the roster for this series? I don’t see a problem with it.
