44-34
32-46
The Bradley Center
April, 8 2009, 8:00 PM
Sports South, Hawks Radio NetworkNBA Audio League Pass
Probable starters:
Mike Bibby PG Ramon Sessions
Joe Johnson SG Charlie Bell
Mo Evans
SF Richard Jefferson
Josh Smith PF Charlie Villanueva
Al Horford C Dan Gadzuric

Hawks Injury Report: Marvin Williams is out, but in a suit. No passport issue in Wisconsin but I am assuming Speedy still won't dress.

Bucks Injury Report:Michael Redd and Andrew Bogut are done for the year.

Blogging With the Enemy: Brew Hoop

Predicted bane of the Hawks existence: Charlie V. Let's hope he twitters at halftime and gets benched.

Game Preview:

A back to back consisting of two road games is not exactly a recipe for Hawks success, but against two teams that Hawks should beat, it may be just what the doctor ordered.

Keys to the game:

  1. Hawks second unit takes advantage of Bucks lack of depth. Paging hot Flip.
  2. More Al Horford.
  3. Josh guards Villanueva all the way out to the three point line.
  4. Josh does not mimic Villanueva's shot selection.

Game recap might be very late. Any fanpost recap would be much appreciated.

See you in the comments.

Go Hawks!

If anyone find it

I would love to get a game link for tonight’s game. I’m doubting that I’ll get it here in FL if it isn’t picked up on a national channel.

The host

struggles just like the players with back to back games. Very unimpressed with the effort with today’s blog

After winning last night

There is no reason to even sniff a loss tonight.

I understand when we shoot open 3's

But Horford is being guarded by Dan Gadzuric. Go right at that scrub.

by Duff_Man on Apr 8, 2009 8:15 PM EDT reply actions

that would make too much sense

I see we’re not playing any kind of defense so far

Cause he probably is. But seriously they have like a box of crackers they snack on at halftime

Having Mario and Flip in the game at the same time is like playing 4 on 5

Mario doesn’t play offense and Flip doesn’t play defense. But if they could somehow combine their powers, it’d form one unstoppable force.

cant believe

they let them take the lead

DO WANT. If only I was closer than 700 miles.

by Duff_Man on Apr 8, 2009 8:35 PM EDT reply actions

ahh, you didn't

Now I want three places that I can’t get anywhere outside of the A:
The Vortex
The Varsity
Central Park

And frankly, I don’t think you can get Central Park anywhere. They seemed to dry up quick everywhere they used to be.

What is it about these games?

The Bucks are over 65% from the field.

they are also

41% from 3

Gadzuric sucks so hard

the sides of my TV just caved in.

by Duff_Man on Apr 8, 2009 9:36 PM EDT reply actions

Woody...you idiot...

Joe has been catching fire. We’re on the road. Why pull him? I know we’re watching minutes, but let’s put it away for 2 more minutes and then rest.

by Duff_Man on Apr 8, 2009 9:47 PM EDT reply actions

You won't see many more lopsided quarters than this one. Wow.

The Hawks just absolutely dominated the third. In every aspect.

by Duff_Man on Apr 8, 2009 9:49 PM EDT reply actions

31-12 in the third.

About time the Bucks cooled off.

by Duff_Man on Apr 8, 2009 9:51 PM EDT reply actions

We're in trouble here.

Our guys are falling all over like a bunch of fish.

by Duff_Man on Apr 8, 2009 10:18 PM EDT reply actions

Down 2, less than two minutes left,

Josh Smith three pointer? I blame Joe Johnson for passing it to him.

by Buzzsaw on Apr 8, 2009 10:23 PM EDT reply actions

JOE!!

That was a CLUTCH shot! 30 for Joe, and a cushion!

by Duff_Man on Apr 8, 2009 10:27 PM EDT reply actions

Well, it wasn't easy...

But a gritty Hawks effort tonight. Fantastic games for Joe and Bibby. Frontcourt did well, too. Great defense in the third to open it up and basically ensure a win. Big clutch baskets.

Have a great night. See you guys on Friday.

by Duff_Man on Apr 8, 2009 10:32 PM EDT reply actions

Not sure of all the tiebreakers

But this pretty much clinches third place. Hawks up are 3.5 games on the Heat, now, with 3 games left to play. The only hitch is that they still have to play the Heat, so Miami has a chance to even up the season series-but I think the Hawks would own the tiebreakers in that event, even if they lost out.

Miami probably won’t win in Boston on Friday, anyway, so it’s pretty much a moot point. At this point, we just need to hope that they can stay ahead of the 76ers for 4th place.

by Bronn on Apr 8, 2009 10:53 PM EDT reply actions

err, fourth place

that should have been, instead of third. Was thinking about having 3 games left, so the word “third” slipped out.
