Probable starters:
Mike Bibby PG Chris Duhon
Joe Johnson SG Larry Hughes
Marvin Williams SF Wilson Chandler
Josh Smith PF Al Harrington
Al Horford C D Lee!

Hawks Injury Report: Craig Claxton will not play despite his best effort to not suck.

New York Injury Report: Nate Robinson is probably out with an ankle injury. Considering Mr. Robinson does everything but backhand the hawks across the face, I am not overly sad about this development. Eddie Curry is also out.

Blogging With the Enemy: Poasting and Toasting

Predicted bane of the Hawks existence: Chris Duhon and his stupid three pointers.

Still New blog development: Blatantly stealing from Bullets Forever, I am instituting a new feature here at Peachtree Hoops. The Game Thread Comment of the Game! Good luck to win the second ever and still very uncoveted crown.

The Hawks win if more than two of these are true:

Larry Hughes takes more shots than David Lee.

Marvin Williams drives to the basket ten times.

Al Hoford ends the first half with less fouls than David Lee.

Josh Smith makes more than 60% of his free throws and shoots more than five.

Joe realizes he weighs 40 pounds more than Larry Hughes.

Mike Bibby's makes more three pointers than Chris Duhon.

See you in the comments. Go Hawks!

Also Key

is for this to be one of the typical 2-10 nights from Hughes, as opposed to the less typical (but still common) 9-13 nights.

in regards to hughes

i think our definition of less common might differ.

but i agree a 9-13 night would be less than desirable.

Josh’s Smith defensive posture on that last possession is really indicative of what the matter is with him. I mean, he was hunched over, hands on his knees, not guarding anyone, waiting on the ball to come to him. The play then got to him just a little faster than he expected and he didn’t really do anything to stop the ball-despite the fact that it was passed out.

i am impressed how often he can not even

pretend to try.

He walked toward the Italian rookie as he rained a three down.

Sigh

Just, if they could prevent a few offensive rebounds, hit a few jump shots, and find a way to integrate Josh Smith on the offensive end without him throwing the ball away or letting it bounce off his hands, maybe they could actually win this game convincingly.

And frankly, you’d think that it’d be embarrassing to be the PF that Chris Duhon, of all people, out rebounds.

25 and 14 tonight for Al

Easily within reach. I know it’s not such a bold prediction in the third quarter, but I’m throwing it out there.

Well

He’d be closer if he hadn’t been sitting for four straight minutes to end the third.

Hard to figure that Atlanta scoring more, since the only two people struggling with their shots are Flip and Bibby. I mean, I hear Bob pointing out the lack of fast break points, and that’s geenerally due to a failure to push the ball and play tough defense, but…most of their shots are falling tonight. They’re still not scoring as much as they should.

Why is Al Horford not on the floor to start the fourth? Did he really need the breather?

How long until everyone catches up with D'Antoni

and realizes that replacing turnovers with missed shots is a can’t lose proposition.

Welcome back, Al Horford

If I recall, the game was closer last time we saw you.
