Hawks Injury Report: Marvin Williams and some dude named Craig.

Blazers Injury Report: Rudy Ferdindez is day to day, but I do not think he will play. Greg Oden is out, a man I have still yet to see play live...

Blogging With the Enemy: Blazers Edge, in my opinion, one of the best blogging communities on the internet.

Predicted bane of the Hawks existence: Joel.

Game Preview:

Can you make your first statement the fifth game in to a possible five game win streak? Oh shoot yes you can. It started with a must win, then you just hoped for one more coming from a streaky team, next you said no way a third, and then the fourth you say got to have this one. Now other streaks have been busted, business has been taken care of, and the Blazers come to town asking really how serious are you Hawks? And as a fan, that excites me.

Being a blogger, the Blazers are kind of like the Braves before serious cable. You may want to be an Astros fans but all you are getting is 140 games of Atlanta Braves on TBS. Henry Abbot, one of the best NBA bloggers around, is a Blazers fan. So his blog TrueHoop covers every which part of the NBA, but if something big happens to the Blazers, he basically writes a memoir on it. I find the whole thing extremely captivating and very annoying.

On the Hawks website, Henry called the Blazers the Hawks of the west coast. That seems a lot like Georgetown calling itself the Princeton of District Columbia but maybe I am just a pessimist. Maybe the Hawks are on the cusp of something great. Maybe I have fallen prey to national media down playing Atlanta this season. Maybe I am just looking at the good of Henry Abbots' eloquent words and not recognizing the fine basketball I see every night. I mean I did praise Nate McMillan during the last Blazer game only to find out many Portland fans rail on him like some of us rail on Woodson. Is the grass really always greener on the other side?

Ohhhh how i digress. Tomorrows game is a fun/big one. Here are the keys.

  1. Joe Johnson shoots over 47%.
  2. Josh Smith outplays LeMarcus Aldridge.
  3. Al Horford keeps Joel off the offensive glass.

Bam. Roasted. To the Blazers fans who stumble upon this sight, I say welcome. I hope you find your stay enjoyable minue two and half hours staring at one eastern tomorrow.

This is an open thread for all things Hawks including speaking your mind about how badly Woody would have used Brandon Roy, what you will do when the Hawks win five in a row, and answering why the NBA has non nationally televised games at 1 pm on Sunday.

Go Hawks!

Almost all blazer fans take this game seriously.

You guys have a really strong home record, so at best were only hopeful. I’ve got this marked down as a loss for us, but have my fingers crossed.

LaMarcus Aldridge

The key to today’s game is the aggression of LaMarcus. Your front court knows where the cup is and has a nose for the ball. Blazer fans respect this game and welcome the test of Mr. Aldrige. Joe Johnson has plenty of game. Bibby is a PG we envy. The Hawks are making noise and the future is bright. I can’t wait to see the match ups. I agree that everyone should want to watch this game.

Hey Hawks!

Early game for us. It’s a 10:00am start for us. Crazy.

Another injury you forgot. Martell Webster out with a stress fracture. So that’s two starters and our sixth man out.

My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

micah hart over at hawks.com

awarded me with some free tickets. so i will be taking this one in over at the highlight factory.

please drop any terrific Niquie-isms in the comments.

Would love to keep you updated on the 'Nique-isms

But priority one for me today is down in Tampa-Mississippi State vs Tennessee. MSU trying to play its way into the tournament-all my discretionary viewing powers are vested there.

Go Bulldogs!

And Hawks too-I really wish Dwayne Wade could just have an off night sometime.

off night?

at this point, i would be happy if he scored less than 40.

if uga could play its way into the tournament, anyone can play their way in.

Is Joel good enough to only be

referred to by his first name? Or is his last name just too hard to spell? lol

My stubbling is perfect...

Looking around the league this early afternoon....

Miami is down 3 at Philly. Wade only has 8 at the half. I’m setting the over/under on his 2nd half points at 27.

Detroit is down 18 at home to the Grizz. Ouch.

he could measure in at 6'9''

and i would still want him as the Hawks center.

nice win today

Did anyone else notice a different Josh Smith after Woodson benched him for a few mins. when Aldridge went off to start the 3rd Q? Joe scoring 35 and staying on his roll was the key, but the other factor was the defense and turnover differential (plus-10). Enjoy the rest of the day and I’ll be back tomorrow night to discuss the Kings matchup on Tuesday.

Ask and ye shall receive!

Off day for Dwayne Wade, and that makes it a trifecta from my earlier post. Hawks win, MSU wins, Heat lose.

Great day.

seriously

post something about the Hawks getting bought by Bill Gates.

Man

I was stuck at the ACC Championship game. If I can use that as an excuse. But I would’ve liked to see this game. Did Acie play?
