Hawks Injury Report: None

Bulls Injury Report: Kurt Hinrich is questionable and Tyrus Thomas and Jerome James are out.

Blogging With the Enemy: BlogaBull

Predicted bane of the Hawks existence: Mike Bibby cannot guard Derrick Rose if Derrick Rose has one ankle. Tonight will be a case in point.

Game Preview:

This sets up nicely for rock bottom for the Bulls. They just lost to the Nets. This is the second of a back to back. All they need is a national televised blowout and a unnecessary flagrant foul by Brad Miller to get there. And that could easily happen.

The thing about rock bottom in the NBA is it is tough to not call a home loss to the Nets not exactly that. So maybe the Bulls come out inspired and turn it around for a few games. Who knows? What I do know is the Hawks should dominate, and in four so games where there is no doubt the Hawks will win, they have lost at least twice.

Thank goodness this game is on national tv to provide the fake energy a team sometimes needs to make an obvious win an actual one.

Keys to the game:

  1. Josh Smith dominating every which way.
  2. Al Horford winning the UF battle.
  3. Good team defense on Rose.

Go Hawks!

This here is the comment of the game

I'll Have A Matty Ice Please.

by IllHaveAMattyIcePlease on Dec 9, 2009 5:53 PM EST reply actions

Alright, children!

Don’t embarrass me on National TV yet again! Give it 110%…no bal-hogging…play
help-defense…keep Rose out of the paint. Go Hawks!!!

by dstdeelite on Dec 9, 2009 6:22 PM EST reply actions

Guarding or lack of guarding Rose is the biggest concern. We have no guards capable of doing it.

We match up well with the rest and thay have no answer for Josh. We should win by 15. Go Hawks

by RivBoatGambler on Dec 9, 2009 6:25 PM EST reply actions

btw

What do y’all think of the new beat writer? Grade so far?

by axhfan on Dec 9, 2009 6:29 PM EST reply actions

For all Woody defenders...

please explain the Smoove to Bibby alley oop. I’ll hang up now.

by Mr. Sanchez on Dec 9, 2009 7:10 PM EST reply actions

Bah

That goes as an offensive board for Josh and assist for Al, but really, it’s practically a rebound and putback for Josh.

by Bronn on Dec 9, 2009 7:13 PM EST reply actions

ugh

to many jumpers come on

by Erihury on Dec 9, 2009 7:14 PM EST reply actions

Josh

takin a charge WHAT!!!!?

by Erihury on Dec 9, 2009 7:15 PM EST reply actions

I came here to confirm that that just happened

A smart defensive play by Josh .. it must be Smoove out their tonight

by supraman on Dec 9, 2009 7:17 PM EST up reply actions

My big concern for tonight

The second unit. So far this year, our second unit has been pretty bad (aside from a nice stint last game by Joe Smith).

For what it’s worth, I don’t really concider Jamal part of the second unit since he logs more minutes than Marvin or Bibby.

by Bronn on Dec 9, 2009 7:19 PM EST reply actions

Is it a rhythm thing with Marvin?

Like, I can see the hitch in his shot that means he’s going to miss, but I don’t know what’s causing it.

by Bronn on Dec 9, 2009 7:21 PM EST reply actions

dang

Marvin almost had that one

by Erihury on Dec 9, 2009 7:21 PM EST reply actions

Or Kentucky...

as they learn to play together, Wall and Bledsoe are some play makers. Just need a shooter. I’m still hesitant to believe a Bill Self club can go deep, again.

by Mr. Sanchez on Dec 9, 2009 7:29 PM EST up reply actions

Why is Crawford on Deng?

Just seems like asking for trouble.

by Bronn on Dec 9, 2009 7:24 PM EST reply actions

Is it just me

Or does Joe shoot better when there’s contact? Like he needs someone else to balance on in mid air.

by Bronn on Dec 9, 2009 7:24 PM EST reply actions

alrighty

I was about to call dick a out……….neva mind. take dick out

by Hawksgirl on Dec 9, 2009 7:25 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Oops, Bob

Foul on Noah, not a turnover, it seems.

by Bronn on Dec 9, 2009 7:26 PM EST reply actions

Don't know why

But it’s not really bugging me that they can’t shoot. Guess it’s still early.

by Bronn on Dec 9, 2009 7:28 PM EST up reply actions

Joe

stop sucking
Signed Hawks fans

by Erihury on Dec 9, 2009 7:27 PM EST reply actions

ESPN is gonna stop covering our games

We’re looking like a church league and Philips sounds like a funeral parlor. They must have a different person in charge of the music. It was much better last year.

by dstdeelite on Dec 9, 2009 7:28 PM EST reply actions

Here's that second team

Let’s see if it all falls apart.

by Bronn on Dec 9, 2009 7:29 PM EST reply actions

Joe does play better when there is pressure from the defender

Or even double teamed. that’s weird but watching Joe for so long he may be quiet but he thrives on being challenged and a double team is just that…. though he seems to lose 50.% of the time depending on the game….

by Hawksgirl on Dec 9, 2009 7:30 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Ooooh

Crawford! nice drive. and a teague siting! great so far

by Hawksgirl on Dec 9, 2009 7:31 PM EST via mobile reply actions

omg

JT makes a jumper wat

by Erihury on Dec 9, 2009 7:32 PM EST reply actions

'Nique says Zaza was

Lying in the weeds.

Those must have been some bad-ass weeds to hide Zaza.

by Bronn on Dec 9, 2009 7:39 PM EST reply actions   1 recs

why is woody always the oddball when it comes to teague?

Most coaches burn their rookies, getting them used to the game….sweat blood and all

by Hawksgirl on Dec 9, 2009 7:40 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Zaza

and Joe Smith rebounding machines

by Erihury on Dec 9, 2009 7:40 PM EST reply actions

Pretty solid stint from the second unit here

Playing basically even-extended the lead by one point so far.

by Bronn on Dec 9, 2009 7:40 PM EST reply actions

Joe Smith

old man having good game so far

by Erihury on Dec 9, 2009 7:42 PM EST reply actions

Teague with the rejection!!!

What were you thinking??? Now you must go sit on the bench.

by dstdeelite on Dec 9, 2009 7:45 PM EST via mobile reply actions

How bout Teague with the monster block!

That’s the Teague that always shows up against Duke

by coachkcastellon on Dec 9, 2009 7:47 PM EST reply actions

ugh

Zaza gettin a rebound taken from him by Rose crap

by Erihury on Dec 9, 2009 7:48 PM EST reply actions

Jamal Carnation : Instant Offense

and imagine Luol Deng with Josh Smith. And we would have drafted Chris Paul to go with them.

by Mr. Sanchez on Dec 9, 2009 7:51 PM EST up reply actions

JC

is on fire gettin easy baskets we need that

by Erihury on Dec 9, 2009 7:50 PM EST reply actions

Teague dropping shots...

and Crawford attacking the rim. Gotta like that.

by Mr. Sanchez on Dec 9, 2009 7:50 PM EST reply actions

wtf

why didnt Horf take it and then Joe misses 3 again

by Erihury on Dec 9, 2009 7:51 PM EST reply actions

Con-Flabbit

I hate when JJ tries to out due Crawfish!

Nice dunk Noah..

by supraman on Dec 9, 2009 7:52 PM EST reply actions   1 recs

hey

bulls shooting jumpshots and makin them and hawks not so much. there is a difference. layin by jj, that’s Wat I like to see

by Hawksgirl on Dec 9, 2009 7:52 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Smoove

makin plays over a Horf interview no one up stages Smoove

by Erihury on Dec 9, 2009 7:55 PM EST reply actions

let

Horf run the point

by Erihury on Dec 9, 2009 7:57 PM EST reply actions

I'm starting to think...

a little Teague—Bibby—Crawford—Smoove—Horfina might work wonders. Got the half court players, the runners, and the D inside. If the opponent is weak on the wing, it can work.

by Mr. Sanchez on Dec 9, 2009 8:02 PM EST up reply actions

Man the Bulls stink.

Young team that never really got their run before letting too much walk.

by Duff_Man on Dec 9, 2009 8:01 PM EST reply actions

At some point

this is going to self-correct. I can just see this team going completely nuts one night shooting the ball, making like 15-19 from 3 or something like that.

by Bronn on Dec 9, 2009 8:03 PM EST up reply actions

God chick-fil-a commercials suck!

Never funny, yet the food is so good!

Since Hawks are playing so well, I gotta complain about something else

by coachkcastellon on Dec 9, 2009 8:03 PM EST reply actions

JC is gonna

try to go for 50 tonight

by Erihury on Dec 9, 2009 8:04 PM EST reply actions

Speaking of Mario West

Doing all right in the D-League. Averging 13.5 points over 2 games, in 28 minutes, with four dimes.. Shooting almost 70% from the field and over 80% from three.

by Bronn on Dec 9, 2009 8:14 PM EST up reply actions

More teams need to utilize it

If about 10% of guys who ride the bench every night were in the D-League, it would be a lot more competitive. And perhaps a bit easier to lure over some guys who play in Euro.

by Bronn on Dec 9, 2009 8:16 PM EST up reply actions

its a shame I didn't know they were home today

I would have bought tickets. crowd is just buzzed on budlight tonight

by Hawksgirl on Dec 9, 2009 8:11 PM EST via mobile reply actions

lol

That pic of jj is hilarious!

by Hawksgirl on Dec 9, 2009 8:15 PM EST via mobile reply actions

jj has met his match in jamal

And his best friend. him and jamal should do more plays together. haven’t seen enough of them together

by Hawksgirl on Dec 9, 2009 8:18 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Russel Celtics

Clearly the greatest dynasty. Though Jordan’s Bulls comes close, especially if you ignore the time he took off.

by Bronn on Dec 9, 2009 8:18 PM EST reply actions

that song for the Kia commercial is catchy

The glimpses of the teams are nice too but the song is stuck in my head. I’m gonna hate this on about 30 min

by Hawksgirl on Dec 9, 2009 8:21 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Bibby

actually playin some D omg the end of times

by Erihury on Dec 9, 2009 8:34 PM EST reply actions

marv threes are a beauty when he makes them

And smooth jams! He grabbed smooth shorts, like that was suppost to stop him

by Hawksgirl on Dec 9, 2009 8:35 PM EST via mobile reply actions

lol aww

Jj is so sweet

by Hawksgirl on Dec 9, 2009 8:38 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Up by 21

It’s time we put in the closers.

That’s right.

It’s Zaza time!

by axhfan on Dec 9, 2009 8:43 PM EST reply actions

30 point lead

time for Randolph Morris to earn his check.

by axhfan on Dec 9, 2009 8:48 PM EST reply actions

I'm not watchin...

so I take it we’re killin ’em and up by 30?

by Mr. Sanchez on Dec 9, 2009 8:57 PM EST up reply actions

Love it

Bob Rathbun talking directly to Josh Smith during the broadcast. Doesn’t get much better.

by Bronn on Dec 9, 2009 8:49 PM EST reply actions

Oooooh

jamal Crawford!

by Hawksgirl on Dec 9, 2009 8:50 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Remember the Lakers game?

Hawks kept it close in the first half, but got killed in the third quarter.

That’s this game, in reverse.

by Bronn on Dec 9, 2009 8:51 PM EST reply actions

has Chicago only scored 4 this quarter?

by axhfan on Dec 9, 2009 8:51 PM EST up reply actions

everything is clicking

Although I still hate to see Chicago score although it doesn’t matter since were literally trading points(and were making them)

by Hawksgirl on Dec 9, 2009 8:54 PM EST via mobile reply actions

WHOO

lets see some Rando some more JT and Mo

by Erihury on Dec 9, 2009 8:54 PM EST reply actions

I just hope we get to see Hunter. I don’t think we’ve seen “Big-O” all year.

by axhfan on Dec 9, 2009 8:56 PM EST reply actions

Can only dress 12 men per game

And he’s been the inactive in every game, I believe.

by Bronn on Dec 9, 2009 8:58 PM EST up reply actions

bob acted like that was the 4th quarter

I wonder what th coach is saying in timeouts

by Hawksgirl on Dec 9, 2009 8:57 PM EST via mobile reply actions

he is prob telling them

there is no way to blow this lead but some how we will

by Erihury on Dec 9, 2009 9:00 PM EST up reply actions

by Hawksgirl on Dec 9, 2009 9:11 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Collins

by Erihury on Dec 9, 2009 9:20 PM EST reply actions

Collins going for the trick shot FT

Probably a bet with Randolph the red-nosed reindeer

by coachkcastellon on Dec 9, 2009 9:23 PM EST up reply actions

OMG

Again why isn’t othello suited up

by Hawksgirl on Dec 9, 2009 9:21 PM EST via mobile reply actions

thanks Gambler...

though he should either be on over Collins, or in the NBDL. As said above, more bench warmers should be down there.

by Mr. Sanchez on Dec 9, 2009 9:22 PM EST up reply actions

Aw shoot. The ol’ roll-off-the-top-of-the-backboard shot didnt work.

by axhfan on Dec 9, 2009 9:21 PM EST reply actions

Woody Fact:

Jason Collins is just better then Othello Hunter. Oh Woody
