"As the season wears on, Jeff [Teague] will get more minutes out there," Woodson said. "I think it's huge having veteran guys. You don't have to be thrown to the wolves right away and have to learn on the fly. That's the unique thing about our team this year versus teams in the past because I've always had to play young guys right out of the box and they just weren't ready to play."
Actual reasoning I can get behind.
Good stuff on Mike Bibby mentoring Jeff Teague in this article too. I hope it is true.

Sure,...
but the statement doesn’t exactly mesh with reality…
“I’ve always had to play young guys right out of the box and they just weren’t ready to play.”
He doesn't have to throw JT to the wolves
He can just gently feed him to them. A few feedings here, a few feedings there….who’s it gonna hurt? Especially when our backcourt is getting reamed by a small pg.
Sidenote: According to an article on nba.com, the Hawks are describe as having swagger. Easily the most overused word of 2009.

not buying it
Yeah um that’s load of crap from Woody. The Hawks had plenty of veteran guards (Lue, Johnson) when Acie and Salim were on the roster yet Woody didn’t play them either. Dude is just trying to maximize the team’s wins and make the playoffs so he can earn a new contract. Nobody can really blame him for that and Teague hasn’t played well enough in his limited minutes to really force the issue, but still….
lue, johnson
is not on the same level with bibby
maybe that’s the reasoning of woodson
well teague has earned an increase in his minutes
He has been doing as well as a rookie pg can(especially 18). He needs me time if you ask me but BIBBY seems to be going okay with teague and so does woody(for the first time in years)
