I contemplated not watching this game...................

But who am I kidding these are my boys! gonna watch them win or lose. Let’s Go hawks!

by Hawksgirl on Dec 30, 2009 4:53 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Ok, a day after last night when I'm a little more rational, I've got a few thoughts on last night's game

1. Lebron was completely neutralized by Marvin-I’m pretty sure all his points came on fast break dunks, or when Bibby and/or Crawford was switched onto him. Now, obviously Lebron missed some looks he normally makes, but if Marvin plays the defense he always seems to do against Lebron again, we actually have a decent shot to steal one. Can Lebron’s supporting cast carry the Cavs again? (Not going to lie, the answer is most likely)

2. Josh is the key to this team. One of these days the national media is going to figure this out. If Josh can avoid foul trouble. I also like how Josh ended our disgusting scoring drought by completely ignoring Jamal’s call to pass the ball, took it up court and went right at Varejao before the Cavs defense was set. A smart Josh out of foul trouble determined to refuse to let the Hawks lose gives the Hawks their only chance of winning this game. Lot of ifs, but whatev.

3. Last night game highlights why JJ was foolish to snub the extension Sund offered. ISO joe just does not work against elite defenses, and joe and woody are the only people who don’t realize this. If joe can ever figure out that ball movement is more important than iso joe, he needs to stay. If not, he can have fun with the Knicks.

by dmortone on Dec 30, 2009 5:03 PM EST reply actions

I think

LeBron might have gotten 2 points off of Marvin fouls. I’d call that good defense.

by Bronn on Dec 30, 2009 5:53 PM EST up reply actions

the knicks? ewwwwww

Why couldn’t you say someone like new jersey lol……..wait or not. knicks or even Houston. Tracy is leaving

I have a sinking suspicion

That this game might be difficult to watch.

game tonight

Look people I hope the Hawks win tonight I will be rooting for them. I’m just letting you know before the game, it is going to be a close game, then in the 4th Qtr there is going to be 1 or 2 ridiculous phantom calls that go in favor of the Cavs and the Cavs will win the game. That is what they are doing with the Cavs all year. They are not going to have them get their 3rd home loss already. This is an automatic win for the Cavs. I wish it weren’t true, just letting you know when that suspicious call happens it will go against the Hawks and for the Cavs and it will also go against the rulebook. So be prepared for it. and Go Hawks!!

by basketblll on Dec 30, 2009 6:44 PM EST reply actions

Give me a break.

As someone who hasn’t enjoyed sports misery since 1964 (partially thanks to your ’95 Braves), I continue to find it absurdly laughable that people think things are fixed in favor of CLEVELAND. Is this some sort of joke?

Cleveland has endured by far the most professional sports seasons without a championship of any city in the nation or world at 128 (44 in baseball, 43 in football, 39 in basketball, and 2 in hockey), dating back to the Browns’ last NFL championship.

Nothing is fixed in favor of Cleveland.

by NotSince64 on Dec 30, 2009 7:00 PM EST up reply actions

1964

yes 1964, but that includes Browns, Indians, and I hope the Indians win the title first. However the Cavs team is different. They have major favorable calls now for 5 out of 6 games. (Bucks, Kings, Lakers, Suns, Hawks). and they will not allow them to get their 3rd home loss of the season already. So when the ridiculous call happens again in the 4th, most likely another ridiculous tech, don’t be suprised. The game has started so we will see what happens.

by basketblll on Dec 30, 2009 7:20 PM EST up reply actions

I told you

like I said 106-101, and I wish it didn’t happen

“This is an automatic win for the Cavs. I wish it weren’t true, just letting you know when that suspicious call happens it will go against the Hawks and for the Cavs and it will also go against the rulebook. So be prepared for it. and Go Hawks!!”

I usually have nothing to say on the "fixed games" subject

But elite stars do get calls no matter how you put it but majority of loses have nothing to do wit it.

Marvin's D ain't what it was last night

He’s playing back a bit-I think a night full of watching James brick jumpers, plus just a couple of plays where he was burned by Bron’s speed, have him sagging off too much.

by Bronn on Dec 30, 2009 8:15 PM EST reply actions

Wow! Q doesn't stand for Quicken Arena....right now it's for Quiet

I don’t think I’ve ever “WITNESSED” a quiet, Quicken Arena.

by dstdeelite on Dec 30, 2009 8:16 PM EST reply actions

Need to keep the lead in the second half

’cause I fear what is going to happen if it gets close again and we have to do that half-court biz all over again.

by rbubp on Dec 30, 2009 8:17 PM EST reply actions

But you know

I’m quite happy with Woody tonight. He was peeved with that last shot by Jamal, and I could hear him shouting at Marvin to get outside on Bron before that last three.

by Bronn on Dec 30, 2009 8:17 PM EST reply actions

they need to stick to their style of play

And keep rattling shaw with Collins and play their style like I said. keep passing and no one on one

that’s what it’s gonna take from here on out. (anybody need another cliche?)

by hawksgate on Dec 30, 2009 8:21 PM EST reply actions

espn

i’m still pissed at the national media for making it seem like last night’s game proved that we suck…. it was just one game. in a best of seven, we could (and maybe would) take these guys.

so i am going to guess that was not offensive interference

by RealSquawk on Dec 30, 2009 8:59 PM EST up reply actions

Hawks survived the 10-0 run and stretch the lead back out. I feel like they’ve weathered the storm a bit.

WTF

they call that on Marvin but not Lebron come on

by Erihury on Dec 30, 2009 9:00 PM EST reply actions

like the refs always do...

theyre doing everything in their power to help david stern’s crown jewel win

Wat!

Alright alright. whatever

by Hawksgirl on Dec 30, 2009 9:00 PM EST via mobile reply actions

I cannot say the same about tonight’s contest.

by Bronn on Dec 30, 2009 9:01 PM EST reply actions

i don’t wanna be"that guy" but it is in the nba’s best interest to hold us down.

by hawksgate on Dec 30, 2009 9:02 PM EST up reply actions

Atlanta is one of the better TV markets for the NBA

If you go by Nielson ratings.

I think it’s actually in the BEST interest of the NBA for Atlanta to have a strong team.

by Bronn on Dec 30, 2009 9:09 PM EST up reply actions

exactly

we have a smaller market, while david stern shoves lebron james, his moneymaker, down our throats 24/7

by CoxXx on Dec 30, 2009 9:04 PM EST up reply actions

woody coaching. in Marvin face, nice

But hawks need to overcome the lack of calls and start makin plays

by Hawksgirl on Dec 30, 2009 9:01 PM EST via mobile reply actions

it really is hard tho

when they are making plays and gettin called for bogus offensive fouls

by CoxXx on Dec 30, 2009 9:02 PM EST up reply actions

Wow! That was a foul on Marvin but not on LeBron when he literally ran over Smoove...

Refs, the Cavs don’t need your help. They’re more than capable of winning on their own.

by dstdeelite on Dec 30, 2009 9:02 PM EST reply actions

ugh

need to attack the basket

by Erihury on Dec 30, 2009 9:05 PM EST reply actions

lebron

it seems he can’t move w/o a foul at this point

by hawksgate on Dec 30, 2009 9:07 PM EST reply actions

because last night is a perfect example of how these games turn out when the lights are on the hawks

by RealSquawk on Dec 30, 2009 9:09 PM EST up reply actions

so Bob Rathbun is making it sound like Lebron is getting foul calls on every possession

by RealSquawk on Dec 30, 2009 9:10 PM EST reply actions

god come on Lebron

get every call Smooe barely touched him

by Erihury on Dec 30, 2009 9:13 PM EST reply actions

WE DONT GET ANY CALLS DOWN LOW

Atlanta will win a championship....someday

by maxxj3 on Dec 30, 2009 9:13 PM EST reply actions

After these free throws Lebron will have attempted more free throws then our whole team

by RealSquawk on Dec 30, 2009 9:13 PM EST reply actions

right here

I’m more tired of the Cavs cheating than you guys are, you’ve only had them 2 games, I’m watching them all year, they do it every single game

by basketblll on Dec 30, 2009 9:39 PM EST up reply actions

WTF

how was that not a call come on

by Erihury on Dec 30, 2009 9:16 PM EST reply actions

"Josh might be biting his tongue"...

first time Rathbun has ever said that sentence.

by Mr. Sanchez on Dec 30, 2009 9:17 PM EST reply actions

i bet it that waas Lebron

they would have let him shoot 4 FTs

by Erihury on Dec 30, 2009 9:18 PM EST reply actions

yeah, that was a foul…shut up.

by hawksgate on Dec 30, 2009 9:19 PM EST reply actions

But it’s time for him to sit. He’s been all but useless tonight.

by Bronn on Dec 30, 2009 9:21 PM EST up reply actions

these refs are bs

bs

its called game rigging

by basketblll on Dec 30, 2009 9:40 PM EST up reply actions

It's not all about the officials.

Every time the Hawks lose, it’s the refs? Or is it that every time the Cavs win it’s the refs?

by NotSince64 on Dec 30, 2009 9:20 PM EST reply actions

Refs can't blow a 14 pt. lead

We’re not talking about a 2 or 3 or even a 5 point swing here.

by NotSince64 on Dec 30, 2009 9:21 PM EST up reply actions

No, but the entire way that the game is played is altered by the fact

that Cleveland can play defense with no fear of being whistled. They can clutch, grab, reach, bang and bump on defense without concern. Makes them a lot more effective as a defensive team.

by Fred Pen on Dec 30, 2009 9:23 PM EST up reply actions

No yesterday

we sucked tonight we cant get a call Lebron has more FTs then our whole team

by Erihury on Dec 30, 2009 9:21 PM EST up reply actions

Tim Donaghy lives!

It must be incredibly liberating to be able to know that you can do whatever you want on defense without any worry about being called for a foul.

This game should be played under protest.

by Fred Pen on Dec 30, 2009 9:20 PM EST reply actions

yes

and I will join you on that protest

by basketblll on Dec 30, 2009 9:40 PM EST up reply actions

JOE

is trying to win this one himself

by Erihury on Dec 30, 2009 9:22 PM EST reply actions

so they did not reset the shot clock?

by RealSquawk on Dec 30, 2009 9:24 PM EST reply actions

so it ain't the refs?

I admit some times it ain’t but tonight it is a bit

by Hawksgirl on Dec 30, 2009 9:27 PM EST via mobile reply actions

so now can we agree that the refs should penalized when they screw up

by RealSquawk on Dec 30, 2009 9:27 PM EST reply actions

This is criminal, should be played under protest,

but the good thing is, we know that the Hawks are the better team, and will win if these two match up in the playoffs.

by Fred Pen on Dec 30, 2009 9:28 PM EST reply actions

yes

i back you 100% on the protest,

by basketblll on Dec 30, 2009 9:41 PM EST up reply actions

Good thing Woody spent 5 minutes yelling at the refs for an irreversible mistake rather than talk to his team to get a better play than a puke awful Josh Smith jumper.

by Sir Stealth on Dec 30, 2009 9:28 PM EST reply actions

ugh so we

officially got screwed by the refs god

by Erihury on Dec 30, 2009 9:28 PM EST reply actions

nothing crazy

just simple

Atlanta will win a championship....someday

by maxxj3 on Dec 30, 2009 9:30 PM EST reply actions

Refs an FG%

I bet the refs helped Anderson Varejao hit the first 3 of his career with their magic powers.

by NotSince64 on Dec 30, 2009 9:31 PM EST reply actions

well JJ don’t want to put any pressure on you. but you got to win this for us

by RealSquawk on Dec 30, 2009 9:31 PM EST reply actions

What was the luckier shot?

Sideshow bob with the miracle heave, or that bullshit overhead crap that that poor man’s reggie miller threw up?

by Fred Pen on Dec 30, 2009 9:31 PM EST reply actions

so we got robbed of

a possession and no calls we should have won this one

by Erihury on Dec 30, 2009 9:35 PM EST reply actions

hawks need to protest this game

and if david stern doesn’t give it to them, i am officially accepting the lebron-stern conspiracy as complete fact

by CoxXx on Dec 30, 2009 9:35 PM EST reply actions

yes

its a fact, I wouldn’t be on here if it wasn’t.

by basketblll on Dec 30, 2009 9:42 PM EST up reply actions

Hawks are the better team, fwiw

no matter the outcome tonight, ATL is a better basketball team and will win in the playoffs if these two match up.

Tonight was absolutely criminal and the refs flat out stole the game. Flat out stole it. Criminal.

Hawks are a better team. Al willl learn from this outing and will come back with a vengeance.

Tim Donaghy lives and everyone knows that NBA refs are the biggest criminal entity this side of the mafia. Pathetic and embarrassing for David Stern’s henchmen.

Crybabies

It’s not about the refs. You got beat two nights in a row. You got swept last year.

Game after game, you find a way to lose and the Cavs find a way to win.

Stop blaming the refs and start working on your defensive and tenacity in physical games. This Hawks team would be destroyed if they still called games like they did in the days of Bird and Magic.

It’s called physical basketball. The Hawks need to stop being so soft.

Hilarious,

No, I will just talk about how the Hawks are the better basketball team and will win if these two meet in the playoffs. Lebron whipped nobody. Verajoi, the total fucking talentless scrub, new age bill Laimbeer got ONE foul called on him. Candace Parker’s brother made the luckiest shot of his scrub ass life.

It was absolutely criminal tonight, and another example of the mafia that David Stern runs.

And Cleveland is a shit hole.

by Fred Pen on Dec 30, 2009 9:44 PM EST up reply actions

The Hawks lost...

…because two nights is a row they failed to bring physical intensity the pivotal quarter of the game.

And if you think Varejao is a talentless scrub, you know nothing about PHYSICAL PLAY and the game of basketball, which is clear already by your willingness to blame two embarassing fourth quarter performances on the officiating.

I’m sure Bronn doesn’t think my criticism is that out there.

defense and tenacity?!?!

yeah, its alot easier to play good defense when you’re not afraid to get a whistle, like the cavs. Varejao is one of the dirtiest players in the NBA and yet he didn’t get his first foul tonight until the 4th quarter, ridiculous. and when atlanta cant even think about playing defense on lebron without getting a foul, it makes it alot easier for him to score 50. face it, dude, the refs blew tonight, the hawks were playing just as physical as the cavs, like you said they should, but they had at least twice as many fouls called against them. When Lebron shoots more FT’s THAN AN ENTIRE FUCKING BASKETBALL TEAM, you have to think something isn’t right, cleveland fan or not.

Shot selection

fact of the matter was the hawks were shooting jumpers and the cavs were attacking the basket.
Thats were the foul disparity lies,
I agree that there were some weird calls like that phanton offensive foul call, but over 99% of the time the refs were correct
and to say that everytime lebron drives is an offensive foul is crazy as is to believe in lebron stern bullshit

You did come back, with a small, but considerable help of an abundance of no-calls (the refs just allow the CAVS to be more physical). The Hawks responded when Cleveland took the lead, but getting suprised by a 12 second shot clock with 1:30 left and a 1point lead is just outrageous. A sea of momentum was lost right there, and no one can stand right back up after getting r*ped like that…

yep

this one was more like a 10 second cheat. The Hawks were up 1 with less than 2 minutes to play. they had just got the rebound and only had 14 seconds on the clock instead of 24, so when Bibby got the ball to half court, it was only 4 seconds left, so the hawks had to rush a bad shot b/c the refs cheated and claimed they didnt notice the shot clock, THAT’S PART OF THEIR FUCKIN JOB!!! No, removing a player FROM THE GAME, especially one like Shaq, is NOT THE SAME as the idea that MAYBE the Hawks would have taken a different shot (and MAYBE make it) if the shot clock was correct.

How can you not see that? One changes the players on the floor (and the ones available for the remainder of the game) and the other MAYBE changes the shot selection… MAYBE.

what does the refs keeping the official time have to do with WHAT THE PLAYERS SEE AND THINK WHAT THE SHOT CLOCK IS, and do you really think any professional athlete in any sport is constantly keeping track of the time of the game in his head? you know, cuz athletes are just so great with numbers, all those athlete mathmeticians. bottom line: im not saying the cavs scoring staff cheated, but making an error THAT AFFECTS THE OUTCOME OF A GAME is warrant enough for a replay, juts like last year

by CoxXx on Dec 30, 2009 10:30 PM EST up reply actions

wow, you really are a dumb fuck....

Are you not understanding the term “competitive disadvantage”? If not…..i’m not gonna break it down for you, i’ll let you remain to look like a dummy. In a simpler term for dumb people, if a team is at a DISADVANTAGE because of a particular, the time transpired is replayed in NBA, as stated above, Hawks-Heat game last year……

Yeah, and that accounts...

For blowing the huge lead.

Maybe ATL shouldn’t have been in that situation if they played well in the 4th, but let’s ignore that and focus on one single moment that only MAYBE would have made a difference.

Don't excuse poor play.

That’s two nights of ineptitude in the 4th for the Hawks.

The refs didn’t blow your 14 point lead or use telekinesis to put Andy’s first three of his career in the hole.

by NotSince64 on Dec 30, 2009 10:23 PM EST up reply actions

Actually

the refs blew the 14 point lead, prime example, non-foul calls and the fouls calls against the Hawks. LBJ’s dick must taste real good in ya mouth right now….

by NotSince64 on Dec 30, 2009 10:24 PM EST up reply actions

How about the fouls

they didn’t call for Atlanta? The whistle was only on one end of the court. I’m not going to argue with you about this. The numbers speak for themselves. The Hawks were driving and hell Bibby and Jamal got flipped over a couple of times, but they’re obviously just clumsy.

by basketblll on Dec 30, 2009 10:06 PM EST up reply actions

Look, I'm all about "bad calls"...

but poor officiating does not equal cheating. When Hawks get the call (which we do at times), I happily take it as a nice little gift. What are the Cavs supposed to do? Decline the fouls.

by bradleyjah on Dec 30, 2009 10:09 PM EST up reply actions

it's more than "bad calls"

when you take 10 seconds off a shot clock and a team has to rush a shot at a VERY critical time of the game, it gives a team (THE HAWKS) a competitive disadvantage, which is why the Hawks-Heat game from last year had to replay the last minute. This shit tonight was cheating! The refs didn’t even gather by the screen to look at the play!! Didn’t have shit to do w/ fouls playa!

by Anonymous HawksGuy on Dec 30, 2009 10:12 PM EST up reply actions

who shot the ball

and what time exactly was it in the box score so I can check the box score. I belive you. I just want definite proof because I know it has been there all along with the Cavs now for 3 years.

by basketblll on Dec 30, 2009 10:13 PM EST up reply actions

You do realize...

…that the refs keep the real time. The Hawks didn’t “have to” do anything. It was a scoreboard error, not an officiating error.

who’s error it is, its cheating. its against the rules. and I’m 100% sure they did it on purpose too.

by basketblll on Dec 30, 2009 10:15 PM EST up reply actions

you do realize...

that the only the refs, not the players keep the real time, so if the players THINK there are less seconds on the shot clock because that is what they SEE, then it affects the game, the refs shoud have stopped play immediately after noticing the error, yet they didn’t either because they were cheating or becuase they weren’t doing their job properly. Whatever situation it is, cheating or no cheating, it still warrants a replay

by CoxXx on Dec 30, 2009 10:19 PM EST up reply actions

This

I’ve seen them do that in Atlanta when the shot clock wasn’t working and the team was halfway down the court.

You’re absolutely right…refs should have been on top of this and looking at the clock. In fact, if they had bothered to look at the shot clock when the Hawks were near halfcourt, play would have stopped because the Hawks were way past an 8 second violation by the shot clock.

by bradleyjah on Dec 30, 2009 10:26 PM EST up reply actions

dumb fuck

It’s the officials job to pay attention to the shot clock as well. There have been many games when the official will put time back on the shotclock because of a shot clock error. The refs should have caught it tonight and gave the Hawks their 10 seconds back. Dude, why am i debating w/ your biased ass comments? Please go back to your tire factory and make you 8.18/hr.

the point is

that the scorekeeper in cleveland, who is EMPLOYED by the cavalier organization, failed to reset the shot clock. i believe that is cheating. the refs should have caught the error but they are dumb as hell and you cant expect them to do anything during the game except slobber over lebron james. i mean, why would you pay attention to the game as an NBA ref when lebron james is playing?? it was his birthday too! did you see those hats he was wearing?

I was talking more about the foul calls...

I’m not sure who to blame for the shot clock mess. When Shaq got the extra foul in the Hawks/Heat protest…were we trying cheat? I’m not sure. It was a bad mistake that should be corrected, but I don’t believe there’s a cheating conspiracy that the Cavs are actively in on.

On another note, I hated the celebrating and hats…another reason Lebron will never equal MJ in my mind. Such an attention whore

yeah...

like MJ wasn’t an attention whore…he was just as bad as lebron when he was playing, everyones just forgotten now that he’s retired. its not lebrons fault for embracing what he’s got, which is the NBA slobbering all over his dick 24/7

by cavslandrocks on Dec 30, 2009 10:50 PM EST up reply actions

That was a judgement call.....

….this was a clock error in a pivotal situation. Very similar situation to when the scorer fouled Shaq out in the Miami-Atlanta game in 2007 causing a replay later in the year. Judgement calls do not get replayed.

by JJDawg on Dec 30, 2009 10:49 PM EST up reply actions

Yep

My one concern is that the league won’t do anything because it might create a slippery slope for appeals. I’ve seen it before where the shot clock messed up or stopped working (not in crunch time and not when the play continued), and the league doesn’t want a replay for every two point game where there was a shot clock problem in the 1st quarter. (Of course, I’ve seen fouls called on the wrong guys plenty times too.)

I think it all depends on whether the league can limit the decision (i.e. to shot clock problems in crunch time that only effected one team )or if Cleveland has had a similar problem in the past. Otherwise, I think we lose the protest

by bradleyjah on Dec 30, 2009 10:56 PM EST up reply actions

The amount of time left in the game when it happened....

…is paramount to the protest being filed in the first place. I don’t think Woody would have batted an eye at it if it happened in the first quarter. I’m not sure it would have even been a big deal if it had happened early in the 4th. But inside of 2 minutes is a different story.

They hope if they don't talk about it, it will go away

The league will find a way to not grant a replay. We may as well prepare ourselves for it. The Cavs got all the breaks tonight and they’ll get another break on the protest.

by Co Co on Dec 30, 2009 10:55 PM EST reply actions

Its true

Wow Cavs really did cheat, that’s crazy I knew it would happen, but this time everyone else is figuring it out:

“Atlanta coach Mike Woodson plans to file a protest with the league, contesting that the Hawks were robbed of a late possession by a shot-clock problem.

Woodson, who spent much of the night complaining about calls and non-calls, was annoyed that the officials did not notice that the 24-second shot clock was not reset following a miss by the Cavaliers with 1:56 left. The Hawks, who were leading 99-98, ended up not getting their allotted time and committed a costly turnover while rushing to get a shot off."

Ok now even though I let you know about this before yesterday’s game, and fought hard to tell you how the clear path foul last night was bs, this takes the cake. Now I see it in the boxscore.

Here is the thing. The Cavs scorekeeper & the refs did it 100% on purpose. They are not going to tell you that. I’ve never even heard of something like this happening under 2 minutes. They did it in the Bucks Cavs game 2 weeks back 85-82. After the Bucks scored with under w minutes left in the 4th, the Cavs scorekeeper ran 3-4 illegal seconds on the clock. Scott Skiles was aware of it and was fuming on the Bucks sideline. So now its happened twice. Its 100% cheating, and they knew they were going to do it.

by basketblll on Dec 31, 2009 3:36 AM EST reply actions

2 minutes

With the Bucks game incident it happened just under 2 minutes, the Bucks scored, yet they scorekeeper ran 3-4 seconds off of the clock. Skiles was fuming, he went over to the refs and they denied his request. The announcers kind of acted like they knew what was going on, but when they commented on it they turned a blind eye and said they weren’t sure exactly what Skiles was talking about.

It wasn’t in the post game, it wasn’t on the replay, no announcer admitted it, and no ESPN anylyst will admit it either. Its only something you pick up on when you watch the games, knowing they are rigging it for the Cavs.

Yet it was there, the Bucks lost 3-4 seconds for no reason. And guess what happened. Delfino picked up a loose ball as time expired. They could have had 3 seconds left in a fair contest. However that doesn’t happen when you play the Cavs.

by basketblll on Dec 31, 2009 3:54 AM EST up reply actions

First of all

You have to admit when you don’t feel the game was called correctly. Because if you keep believing the calls are “fair” and the refs are “human” you are cheating yourself. Once you realize the games are rigged, and admit it, they are much easier to watch because you can see the little things here and there that pushes a team to victory. So its better to admit, then keep denying these things happen.

by basketblll on Dec 31, 2009 3:41 AM EST reply actions

Cavs will get calls in 70-75 games this year

That is how it was last year, that is how it is this year. No team gets calls over the Cavs. Nobody. The Lakers get some calls, but once they play the Cavs it doesn’t happen.
No other team really gets favorable calls. They may get them one night, but won’t the next. Cavs are the only team to get favorable calls almost every game. Boston gets it close to the worst with Orlando and other teams like the Bucks Kings Blazers etc getting the worst of the calls.

Now notice how the Cavs are always dancing doing photo shoots, tonight was the birthday thing. Do you know why they do it so much? Because they know if they “act” like they are enjoying themselves and having fun they will get calls. That is what the game has come down to. Its not basketball anymore. Its acting. And if you act like you are having fun and smiling you will get calls. That is why the Cavs do it. And its only Mo, LeBron and Varrejeo who play along, the other Cavs players are all regular players.

Mo, LeBron and Varejeo complain very hard on calls that they are 100% wrong on. They will complain harder on a call they are wrong on then another player on an opposing team, and Mo & Co. won’t get the techincal, the other team will. Have you ever seen the way they act when they don’t get the call? And they never get a T for it.

by basketblll on Dec 31, 2009 3:48 AM EST reply actions

shot clock

You only make shot clock errors like that with 2 minutes to go in a close game if you intended 100% to do it. That’s not a mistake. It was premeditated. They were looking all game to do something like that, and once the Hawks were close to winning, they were ready for the cheat. Cavs knew they were going to lose, and the better you play against the Cavs, the more ridiculous the calls against you will go. That was the Cavs last chance to win on LeBron’s birthday. Mess with the shot clock. And they did it 100% on purpose with the refs giving a wink wink. Anyone who thinks otherwise is living in a delusional world.

I called it
