The NBA "watchability" scale; Hawks come in at 14
A great article, and I agree with everything written about the Hawks. But there is no way, NO WAY I say, that the Hawks are less fun to watch than the Wizards or the Raptors.
I don't care if it is all Joe Johnson isolations. Josh Smith's help defense alone is better than 12 jump shots by Bargnani.

The Raptors and Wiz
are more maddening to watch than anything. The fact that they don’t even bother to play defense most of the game is insulting. If I were a fan of either team, I’d go crazy!

that may be what sends them up the list...
if your team plays them, you know you’ve got a great chance to score big points in a win. And I love watching the Hawks win big scoring 120+ pts.

move some teams around
Move the Rap, knicks down (higher number) they terrible
Wizard, celtics, Jazz move down slightly ( they are a good watch depending on the opponent)
memphis, OKC, Clippers, Bucks,- are exciting but young move up (lower number)
Sac- young but not that exciting- move down
Move the Cavs up ( Lebron is always exciting to watch)
Hawks- move way up…are as exciting as any team outside of LA only because of Kobe and PHX because of the style of play

He's got a point
But Josh Smith is one of the most watchable players in the NBA. They’ve got to be in the second tier of watchable teams. Unfortunately, the Hawks are hurting their own watchability with all these blowouts. Even the games that aren’t “blowouts” aren’t necessarily close games.
They’ve only had three games decided by 5 or fewer points. Only 9 of 23 games have been within 10 points. Big wins makes for fun games when you’re a Hawks fan, but from a pure basketball standpoint, you get bored. An outside fan doesn’t get any enjoyment out of 10 minutes of garbage time at the end of the game, when all the starters are out, and the back-ups end up with more minutes (like against Toronto).
Of course, when Al Horford is involved, he’s pretty awesome to watch too, and for games like last night, when we get vintage JJ, aka Joe “freakin” Johnson, the team has much more aesthetic appeal.

Yeah, okay!
I agree with the writers reasoning for ranking the Hawks #14. But the teams ahead of the Hawks are definitely not teams that I watch on my NBA League Pass. The Suns and Lakers are boring, I’ve tried watching these two teams and fell asleep. He even ranked the Kings ahead of the Hawks, yawn. OKC is an exciting team to watch though. They can be losing by twenty points but still celebrate off a fly dunk by Russell Westbrooke. The Thunder are like watching a bunch of hyperactive kids. Their excitement is contagious. I’m like somebody please give these guys some Ritalin. LOL!
I love my Hawks but honestly they have bored me on occasion, especially when they come out with no energy. Yawn, I’ll just go watch a team excited about playing basketball like the OKC Thunder. Definitely gotta be in the house on Jan. 18th when they come to the A. :-)

And
Anybody else feel that the excitement that J Smoove had at the beginning of the season is gone. It’s like that ref that threw him out of the game just stole it from him. I’ve been waiting for that to come back. It’s just not there anymore. When players are hyped for the game and play like it, it’s contagious. Bring back the excitement J Smoove.
But, I’d take a win over excitement any day. Just keep winning Hawks. Winning is exciting. Dang, did I just contradict myself?????

yea smoove has lost some excitement
I hope he starts that back up and games have been kinda boring because we have blown out almost every team or known we were gonna win in the end. not to mention we seem to be playing our style whether than the half court which is a good luck. but I take a win anywhere and anyway. okc and Portland are fun to watch………..cleveland too sometimes
