Either it was a down week in the East or the voters respect the hell out of rebounds because Joe's 20 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists looks like a slightly above average week for him with the boards and assists just switched around.

Congrats to Joe!

And how weird is it that the Hawks could argue three players for the honors and still lost to Charlotte by 20 points?

Um, no

I think this is still just them assuming since the Hawks won it must have been because of Joe. Jamal was the best player last week, but hey I love Joe so congrats to him.

I Beg to Differ, Um Yes!

When you actually go back and look at the stats. Joe Johnson had a better week than Jamal Crawford overall. Besides JJ scored a lot of points in one quarter on the reigning champs. Joe is still a better player than Jamal Crawford. Stats don’t lie. Joe has been averaging more points per game, more rebounds, and more assists than Jamal Crawford. This is assuming stats determine who is awarded Player of the Conference.

Actually, stats DO lie

Exhibit A: Ewing, Wilt, McGrady. But that’s another story.

I will submit that the NBA P.O.W. award is mostly stat-driven. JJ did have a great week on the court (post-game comments not withstanding). Hope it is a sign of things to come.

Congrats JJ!

Well, since he won im not gonna say who could have won because it could be that person next week. But he could have won because of his new “leadership role.” but as a hawksfan i take national or local credited to the hawks as it comes.Let’s Go Hawks!

1st we're # 6....

In the Stein, NBA.com, and CNNSI rankings. Then JJ awarded POW.

Like Cube said, I can’t believe, today was a good day.
