Game Preview:

One could argue the Hawks have the advantage at every position. Will they pout? Will they be focused? Will they execute or simply try and out skill? Will they put 48 minutes of effort in tonight? I hope so. I certainly hope so. The Hawks need this win and they should get it. It won't just be three losses in a row, it will be three losses by the old Hawks and it only takes so many of those before they just become them.

Jeff Teague will not be a difference maker in this game, but with Mike Bibby not practicing all week and now playing the second of a back to back, I hope we see more than a four minute stint from the rookie. Royal Ivey and Jrue Holiday may get the best of Jeff tonight, but if they win the game for the Sixers, that will be a team problem and not a Teague problem. The Hawks need a back up point guard tonight. Lets use the one we have.

Keys to the game:

1. Play like they did in the first half of last night's game.

2. Don't play like they did in the second half of last night's game.

Go Hawks!

We need this one.

I have Sixers pre-game on and they think the Hawks are ripe for a beating. I wanted to go to this game and had to work all day. Sucks.

maybe

I have the scary suspicion that the Hawks don’t know why there offense can turn so stagnant so quickly?
And when is the last time we have heard someone say we are missing a lot of open shots or that we are getting a lot of open shots?

by RealSquawk on Nov 27, 2009 8:22 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

This game was won in spite of Joe's efforts to lose it.

I hate that I had to type that, but that’s what it seemed like.

Sixers post-game

They love Crawford. Their nickname for him: The Electrician. Because he can light it up fast.

by Duff_Man on Nov 27, 2009 9:51 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Thanks for the update

I love when we have both aspects of the game….our homers and theirs

by dstdeelite on Nov 27, 2009 9:56 PM EST via mobile up reply actions   0 recs

They're lamenting how bad the Sixers are right now.

They said they know they are missing a couple of guys but they way they are playing is inexcuseable. Sixers have a murderous schedule coming up. At San Antonio, at Dallas, at OKC, at Charlotte. They could lose 9 in a row.

But they are impressed with the Hawks. 60% of Sixer fans think the Hawks are as good as their record according to their text poll during the game.

by Duff_Man on Nov 27, 2009 9:59 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Thanks for the info Duff

The sports world want the Hawks to be a fluke….if no why even ask a question like that?

by dstdeelite on Nov 27, 2009 10:28 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I agree...how ludicrous.

I think they should have taken a poll as to whether the Sixers are as good as their record. (I say yes.)

Much better ball movement from the Hawks tonight, though I missed the first half…except for JJ, of course, who when in continued his over-dribbling, ball-hogging ways. Those who didn’t want re-sign Bibby—he earned his cash tonight, didn’t he? His early threes opened up things for everyone else, and he still has very good court vision and gets everyone involved.

by rbubp on Nov 27, 2009 10:37 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Totally agree

His bounce pass to Horford is a thing of beauty.
