Around SBN: Raiders' GM Begins The Purge

Josh Smith has 33 rebounds in the last two games. From February 17th to March 6th of last season (10 games), he had 32.

Last year's season high for boards was 15 which he has now surpassed in back to back games.

The light may finally have flipped on....and stayed on.

"Dear Josh Smith,

We have your family tied up in our basement. If you do not grab over TEN rebounds per game we will do some unspeakable things to them. In addition, if you shoot any three point shots (outside of buzzer beating heaves), we will do unspeakable things to them.

We ask you to comply, as we would like to avoid any ugly incidents. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
The Nazis Who Are Holding Your Family Hostage"

This is really the only explanation I can think of as to why or how Josh has gone into the zone this season.

Or this

McSmiles: “Hey Josh, remember when you, me, and D used to destroy fools back in the day?”
Josh: “Yeah, we used to own fools faces.”
McSmiles: “Wouldn’t it be cool if you did that again?”
Josh: “Man, those were good times. I’m gonna go dunk on that old man in the Blazers Jersey.”
McSmiles: “Hey, get some for me will ya, me and Collins are gona finish this game of I-Spy.”

Corey Zickefoose: I think they should still be able to play football, regardless. Tennessee is my place. You know, it's my football team.

Reporter: Even after they put a gun in your face, you say let them play football?

Corey Zickefoose: Yeah. It's Tennessee. That's the way it is sometimes.

Welcome to the SEC!

Oh, McSmiles

When asked about the Power Rankings spot, he responded “it’s just week 2 thought.” I imagine its difficult to keep track of such things when you gametime activity is consumed with naming all the state capitals with Jason Collins.

Then he said he wants to be #1

in week 50, October 2010 during the preseason

I think his last two games have seen more boards...

than the first 8 combined, or at least pretty close. Let’s see a few more before saying he’s changed for permanent.

Sorry, I know that this is half in the wrong thread, but...

Smith did a great job hustling inside against my Trail Blazers. Your guys worked hard to earn that victory, and even though it hurt me to watch, I have to compliment your Hawks fire.

Nice job winning an ugly game.

And best of luck knocking down the Cavs & Boston every chance you get.

*Unless KP has a secret plan that makes this statement incorrect.

Thanks

I think most here would agree when I say that the Blazers are also a great team and one that us East Coasters could easily get behind, and I think a large part of that is the complete class of the current fanbase. You guys are much better than Boston and Miami fans.

Good luck to you guys, destroy the West for us, and we’ll see you guys again in the finals.

Liking what I see

It’s got to be Smith and Horford, and, to a lesser extent Williams. JJ and Bibby will not last too long logging 40 minutes a night.

by ATK on Nov 17, 2009 9:33 PM EST reply actions

JJ wont last long but

Now with jamal here, it may not be that bad. Bibby gets takin out early and comes in with lots of energy. woody is doing a good job at that. But still hasnt quite learned how to deal with JJ. He should be takin out in favor of mo the same time bibby is or a minute or two later
