Predicted bane of the Hawks existence: CP3 David West.
Game Preview:
Don't let CP3 beat you. And I mean him literally beating us, like just him against all five Hawks for four quarters.. Don't let that happen. No let down.

No letdowns.
But I fear this game thread may be. HawksDawgs is doing patronage with the second part of his name today, which leaves the rest of us to carry the game thread.
Early thoughts: You’d think this would be a cinch without Chris Paul, at home, but the Hawks can be alarmingly uneven. As bad as New Orleans was last night, and losing CP3 in the third quarter…they still only lost by 8 points to a good Trailblazers team. This isn’t a game I expect to lose, but they do have players capable of hurting us.
Darren Collison might fill in for Chris Paul-he’s no Chris Paul, obviously, but he’s quick and has solid handles, so he’ll naturally give Bibby problems. David West and Emeka Okafor can give anyone problems in the frontcourt if their on top of their game. And between Peja, MoPete, and James Posey, they’ve got someone capable of getting hot from three, which always ruins your night.
I expect that Bibby will get some rest today, and we’ll see Jamal Crawford get a lot of minutes, and Mo Evans should play a bit more as well.
Hey, leave me alone!
Corey Zickefoose: I think they should still be able to play football, regardless. Tennessee is my place. You know, it's my football team.
Reporter: Even after they put a gun in your face, you say let them play football?
Corey Zickefoose: Yeah. It's Tennessee. That's the way it is sometimes.
Welcome to the SEC!
I won't be able to watch the game
because I’ll be judging a step show. Boo hoo. Please be as detailed as possible!! Go Hawks!!!!

Answer this: what college/university did you attend? If you tell me that, it'll help me explain what it is.

Duff
Just go watch Stomp The Yard. While extremely exaggerated, it’ll give you a good idea.

Believe it or not, I was going to suggest the same thing. I can probably find a nice link on youtube or something.
Yeah
I was going to mention Hell Week at Morehouse, but figured that movie would be easier.
Here ya go Duff, watch this.

Haha, you're cruel man
It’s a fraternity thing. Each one has a team and they have competitions. I wouldn’t go so far as to put it into the same category as cheerleading, but as far as the structure of it, I guess I could see that point of view.

meh
NO is so far over the luxury threshold, money clearly is no problem for them. Or, that might be why their GM is now the Coach so they wouldn’t have to spend more money for a new coach.

Wow. The Hornets are epic bad.
And thsat’s not a knock on anything the Hawks are doing. Maybe I am just not used to seeing our team as great.
well im back earlier from shopping, i made good time
Now, judging from what i have seen, who said jj ignores jamal on the court? or vice versa?

is there a such thing as a quadruple double?
And has it been done?
by Hawksgirl on Nov 14, 2009 7:37 PM EST via mobile reply actions
Marvin may not have the complete offense
But the guy is long and can board inside. I wish he could hit his stride.
Bibby looks like he is so much mor comfortable this year.
He’s minimizing his weaknesses and just playing to his strengths. Credit Woody so far as well for rotating him in and out at the right times.
Nique just said JJ is having a great half.
I wonder when bad passes and poor FT shooting became “great”?
Two times for Al,
and a couple assist for Joe F Johnson, guess he showed me.

Dominique's Above The Rim Keys
Is only highlighted by the fact that they used a shot from when he was sponsored by Brooks.
Yes

Been watching CFB all day, came in late
ANd GT men’s BB is playing FAMU right now as well, so my attention is split. Listening to Hawks on The Zone, watching Gamecast for GT, trying to comment in both SBN gamethreads…yay and I’m not even drinking.

I'm completely opposite on that
But I love all my ATL teams equally. I hate living away, but it makes it easier when deciding which games to attend, meaning I barely get to any at all.

I was worried about this being a letdown game
Didn’t think this would end up being the game where JJ finally had a JJ game.
Josh Smith is really good around the basket
He really is making that push for all-star consideration.
Crawford is sooooo much better than Flip.
He just can’t be stopped. Passing and shooting…he does both extremely well.
haha
Nelly just interviewed on TheZone. Guess he’s at the game.

Yeah I am punching out.
Up 21 with 4 minutes to go. This was a whitewash the whole way.
Great win. No let-down!
Randolph Morris finishes at +3
Ergo, he is a better basketball player than Jamal Crawford at +2.
The stats don’t lie.
Not true
It only proves that the +/- stat is lame.

I didn't even mean that
+/- definitely has its place. But the random game-to-game variation will never stop amusing me.
true
But unfortunately some people like to throw +/- numbers around and leave it at that, like it’s some definitive measure of a players value on the court when it truly isn’t. In fact, using individual player +/- numbers without any context is probably the worst way to evaluate a player.
A better use of +/- is the five-man rotation +/- numbers. These allow you to truly see the value in players together at the same time on the court.

More Randmo minutes means a better chance of winning
My non-causational analysis says he should play more.
Woody, take note.
I concur
