Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith has two personal goals this season—to make the All-Star Game and to be selected to the NBA's All-Defensive team.

The Sporting News, The Basline.

What no three point contest winner? Dude is obviously not a dreamer.
However, I would take either one of these honors for Smith.

Yeah, but

..if he puts the required effort into each game that would be needed to attain one or both of his goals, you might just get at least one of yours. Of course, that’s barring any major injuries.

If attains either of those

I’ll accept wherever the Hawks are as a team. The only way this team makes any kind of serious jump is for Josh Smith (and Marvin, but mostly Josh) cashes in on his potential.

I know Josh is capable of very solid man defense, without it affecting his ability to help. If he gives that effort and avoids falling into any bad habits, both of these are in his reach.

Maybe

if you get a couple more rebounds and improve FG% you will get a shot. Unless Josh gets more defensive help from the back court it will be hard to be All-Defensive.
