Hawks down to 16 players with the release of guards Juan Dixon and Mike Wilks.

From the files the Hawks PR twitter.

Kind of surprised about Dixon.

So they were serious about no 3rd PG...

So we are left with…
Horford Zaza Collins
Smooth Joe RandMo
Moustache Mo
JoeJo Crawford Mario
Bibby Teague

You assume Mario is a lock because of no other perimeter guys. So that leaves Sims, Siler, Hunter battling for at most 2 spots and I’d say Hunter is pretty much a lock for one of them. May the quest to be the league’s 8th man of the year begin! (Of course, that leaves Sims, who’s played more, or Siler, who’s younger/supposed bigger “upside”, or just leaving it open)

That sucks. I love Dixon. We really could have used an inexpensive veteran clutch shooter like him.

Is Mario making the team?

I knew we’d cut Wilks but I didn’t think we’d let another guard go before a big like Sims or Siler first.

I’d much rather us have Juan Dixon than Mario West. Why does Woodson like him so much? He’s probably an above average defender but he has no offense and fouls like crazy.

Question: Do we have to keep Morris since we signed him for 2 years? Why did we do that?
