‘Nique sounds like he doesn’t really know who Camby is. “He’s having a good year, second in the league in rebounding. He’s a solid center in the NBA.”

As if that’s some revelation. Camby has been the second best center in the NBA over the past three years.

It’s nice to finally see Atlanta run into a team with more offensive problems than they.

By offensive problems, I mean....

The hawks offense is still strangely efficient, but that’s despite being largely dysfunctional.

Love seeing Acie Law getting to play in to straight games. Especially when he’s doing things pretty well.

3:24 left in the second quarter poses a question…why did Josh Smith gently lay that ball in instead of jamming it home with authority? Wide open on the feed from Joe, it was clear that Camby wouldn’t be able to block it…don’t know he soft touched it.

It doesn’t make a bit of difference in the score, but I feel it’s an example of how he needs to use his athleticism a bit more aggressively. I feel like he needs to pump himself and the rest of the team up on occasion by poster-izing someone.

Better, there

Josh tries to jam it in to end the half, gets fouled. Converts both free throws.

And here comes Acie in the Mario West role.

And Josh Smith again proves Brett right

by sounding very much like he knows what he’s talking about as he’s interviewed at halftime. To his credit, just the three jump shots so far, and all from the bottom of the circle.

Still, if he could limit himself to just three or four jumpshots per game, he might be on his way to an all-star appearance.

The entire Clippers team has hit just 2 jump shots at halftime.

Excluding Josh Smith doing very stupid things, I think I’m done complaining about Atlanta’s offense tonight.

It finally happened

I was waiting all game for it. The lackadaisical way both teams approached bringing the ball up the court finally resulted in an unforced 8 second violation.

I’m glad it wasn’t on Atlanta.

Must say I’m fairly happy, overall, with the way Atlanta has played since the first quarter. I mean, would be nice to blow out a team that’s struggling like the Clippers are, but a lot of guys are getting their shooting touch back tonight. Josh Smith has taken 5 jump shots but is generally playing exactly the way I’d want from him every game. Not his best night on defense, but he’s making up for it by crashing the boards.

Dominique just fabulously summed up everything I’ve ever thought about Josh Smith’s offense on the post-game show. Wouldn’t it be great if he, one of the all-time greats, gave Josh a bit of counsel to help maximize his potential? I feel like it could go a long way.
