The Trade Journal: PROPOSAL: Hawks Land Carter
The Trade Journal sees merit in the Atlanta Hawks trading Mike Bibby to the New Jersey Nets for Vince Carter and Sean Williams. While I'm not sure I like the idea of the Hawks shifting Joe Johnson to the point -- surely they're not ready to hand the reins to Acie Law IV -- adding another tremendous scorer to the backcourt seems like a no-brainer. Could the Hawks realistically get more for Bibby's expiring deal? Doubtful.

Carter and Williams
would make the miserable Antoine Walker/Al Harrington Hawks team seem industrious and committed to winning in retrospect.
I don’t dispute that the Hawks, should they succeed in trading Bibby’s contract, will get something less than Carter (Williams is an overrated, one-dimensional player whose one dimension isn’t even all that valuable) in terms of absolute talent but the idea of Carter playing for Mike Woodson, much less in a backcourt with Joe Johnson, chills the blood.
