Magic Sign Jeremy Richardson
News release from the team's website:
The Orlando Magic will hold their 2008-09 training camp at the RDV Sportsplex in Orlando, beginning Tuesday, September 30. In addition, the Magic have signed free agents Dwyane Jones (F-C, 6-11, 251, 6/9/83, Saint Joseph’s), Jeremy Richardson (G-F, 6-7, 195, 3/1/84, Delta State) and Mike Wilks (G, 5-10, 180, 5/7/79, Rice). The roster currently stands at 16 players (roster to follow).
As to this...
He deserves a chance not just to make the 2008-09 Hawks roster but to earn some minutes in the rotation (If only due to Josh Childress's massive absence.) as either a shooter or scorer, essentially serving as second-unit insurance for both Maurice Evans' jump shot and Acie Law IV's dribble penetration.
...nevermind.

jeremy richardson
His name was not called upon much while in a hawks uni, but all dude did was hit open jumpers when given the chance. Woody should have played the guy, instead fo playing Joe Johnson 40 min. a game, it was very obvious that JJ was tired at the end of games… very few people know about him, but if given the chance he will show that he can play for the magic 10 to 20 min. a game….this situation is a by product of woddys coaching style…no development of his bench, Solo should have played more last year, and J-Chils deserved to start over Marvin, these are simple facts that do not take a rocket scientist to figure out….

I doubt he sticks
Unless the Magic move Hedo Turkoglu before the start of the season. Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis, their two best wing scorers, are natural small forwards, and Lewis is currently stuck at power forward. And he can forget about making the team as a two-guard, since the Magic have free-agent signee Mickael Pietrus, incumbent backup Keith Bogans, rookie Courtney Lee, and incumbent bench-warmer J.J. Redick at the position.
It’s a real shame that Richardson doesn’t stand much of a chance. He sounds like the sort of guy who would work well in Stan Van Gundy’s system. I mean, the Magic really could do much worse in terms of reserve wing players, right?
