The Last Pessimistic Post Before the Season Begins
Over at Wages of Wins, Erich Doerr has compiled and collated the projections of several advanced stats gurus (and, it looks like, Vegas oddsmakers).
The spreadsheet listing all the various projections can be accessed directly here. Averaging the 9 projections for the Hawks for the upcoming season gets 34 wins. The lowest projection is 28 wins, the highest projection is 39 wins.
All that assumes that I'm reading the spreadsheet properly.
Carrying on...
In the interests of balance (and to keep everyone current with the small but lively Hawks blogosphere) let me pass along both that Drew has re-christened Hawks, Dawgs, and Jesus as Zaza's Playground and he has described the best-case scenario for 2008-09 season.

What is strange (among other things)...
Is that with all the yammering out of Woodson about how great last year was, and how we are going to tear it up this year based on how “great” last year was, still the average of predictions is LOWER than last year’s win total. Isn’t this a sign to anyone on the Hawks that maybe last year was in fact not so great, and loving the smell of your own farts over 38 wins might not be the best strategy for 2008-2009? Ok, done with the pre-season pessimism. Go Hawks.
Excellent guide to 08-09 by Drew also, I think all that stuff can and will happen.
