…I believe the very clued in Coco and myself have agreed that the most likely scenario involving Josh Childress becoming a free agent involves the Hawks inadvertently failing to file the appropriate paperwork to retain his rights though they might be cheap/dumb enough to renounce his rights as well.

I think letting a player of Childress' caliber go to save a few million dollars makes sense
Especially when the Hawks can use that money to sign top free-agents like Lorenzen Wright and Speedy Claxton.
